Hell Yes!!! Skipa Star and Skipper W. Those are awesome lines!! Also Moon Deck, Top Deck, Three Bars & Two Eyed Jack on the mares side. Those are all great lines!! Our Quarter Horse mare has the same!

A 19 year old QH I would not expect a huge price for unless the horse has amazing training. What sex is the horse because a mare, only if she is a proven broodmare, could have some additional worth because of bloodlines, but for a gelding the pedigree means pretty much squat.
This horse has a decent pedigree but the bloodlines don't make the horse I've seen some pretty bad horses come from great lines and some really nice horses from unknown lines.
With today's prices I wouldn't expect to get top dollar for any horse unless it was a nationally or internationally competitive horse.

Sadly, we can not change our mistakes, but, learn from them.
I guessing the horse may have been worth more, but, there is the age to consider. I just guessing, but, the horse was worth maybe $1,200 to the right person where I live. But, it hard to say for sure as mentioned prices go up and down according to demand.
A good tale sign was how quick was the buyer willing to pay $400. If, they were first to look and waste no time buying, then the horse was worth more and they knew it.

I have never been a Skipper fan, but I did
see 3 names that caught my eye on the the top...
Three Bars
Top Deck
Moon Deck

As for the bottom..
Two Eyed Jack is good...

I would say $500 for a 19 year old gelding in today's market is about par, depending on where you live & how available foundation blood is & how up close it is...

Well, at a local sale barn, that might be one of the top prices. Here in the midwest prices are so LOW!

But depending on the horse, that might have been a pretty low price.

However, my brother says anytime you sell a horse you're making money (because of how much it costs to keep one!) So don't kick yourself too much. As long as you found a good home for your horse, that's what's most important.

My filly is Skipper W on the top side. Yes, your horse is very nicely bred. That is a hard mistake to swallow.
