I will be meeting with a friend next week, whose dog had puppies about 6 months ago. I adopted one of her pups when it was about 2 months old, and will be bringing him with me when we meet. My question is: When the mother dog is reunited with my pup, will she somehow feel that its her offspring? Will she remember/smell him and know somewhere, deep inside, that she is his mother? Or will she treat him like a random dog on the street and growl at him (I've heard that she is territorial of unfamiliar dogs on her property). Should I bring him or leave him at home?

my landlord said my dog is the cause for mice. The thing is, I know mice like dry dog food. But my dog had surgery and is on prescription canned food (which is refrigerated once opened and sealed when closed) which I feed him by hand.

I have had this puppy for 11 years and just recently got very sick. Her vet has done all that can be done, but he sees her days are limited. Just 2 days ago, we found out that she has skin cancer. It's already spread all over her chest. She is not the same amymore. She's not as hyper or responsive. She has been with me ever since I was 13 and has stuck by me when times were rough. Everytime I think of how she is feeling, I start to cry. How can I let her go?

Now that my cat Nala who we had creamated, it back (her creamated self, that is)...I don't feel upset anymore, once I saw her ashes, it felt like she was back home, like nothing has changed....Im even thinking of talking my parents into adopting a new cat

Why do you think the fact that her ashes are home made such a differnece in the way I feel. Shes not back alive, but it feels like she is, I can be in the house, and smile instead of cry

why do you think this is?

She has just turned 4, but has become more lethargic recently, spending pretty much all day asleep on the top level of her sctratching post, and only really gets down briefly to eat for a few minutes when I first put her food out in the morning. Also she seems ot have become less confident when getting down from high surfaces, going gradually to lower and lower levels, rathe than jumping straight donw as she used to. Is there something I should worry about and take her to a vet, or is she just getting older?

I've read some conflicting information regarding vaccinations for cats. Some people suggest regular vaccinations, and others say this isn't always necessary.

The reason I ask is this-- I have cats, and all are a few months overdue for their yearly vaccinations. My vet has suggested a booster after the initial vaccinations (more shots, basically) since it's been over a year. Not only does this seem like overkill to me, it also seems like a waste of money. My cats are strictly indoor cats, by the way. So I'm wondering-- are these yearly vaccinations really necessary? My cats HATE them, and usually get pretty sick afterwards.

Can anyone offer me some insight here? Thanks in advance!

This is my almost 5-month old puppy....Just want to see if anyone can guess what she is mixed with because I think this might be a tougher one. If you click on the link, there are 5 pics....The first 3 are more recent.

My sweet kitty Nellie got fleas from sitting near the door, where there's a crack under it. (She's an indoor kitty.)

We took care of the fleas themselves, we gave her a collar, we sprayed her and used anti-flea stuff on the carpet, etc., but it's been a couple of weeks and she has a sore spot on her back from itching. It feels (under her fur) like a scab, and when we pet her on a certain spot, she tenses up, and if we do it too hard, she meows and even bites a little.

Is there any good natural remedy or over-the-counter medicine we can put on her itchy spot? Thanks!

Hey all. I am just curious as to what people are interested in as far as snakes go. Please list any and all snakes that interest you. Tell why. What about a certain species of snake fascinates you? It could be a Hognose Snake, a Spitting Cobra, A Reticulated Python, a pet Ball Python. Any snake at all. I have been researching venomous snakes for over 20 years and am just curious what other people think. Thanks to all in advance.

Peace

Mike

ok i'm going to get two ferrets. Both are going to be like 8 weeks old. One thing i wanted to know is i'm going to let them run around the house. I'm aware they can get into really small and narrow places and alot of my friends have them running around the house. Can ferrets be trained to use the bathroom in their cage or a litter box so they don't poop around the house, if so how can i train them??? And someone told me that they're related to the skunk and they kind of smell but is the smell really that bad?? Will it stink up the house? one last thing what are some good things to buy for the ferrets. Oh and how much should i feed them? Please anwser!!!!

I have tried finding the answer to this question online but haven't had any luck.

I have recently adopted two brother cats that are a year and a half old. They are completely up to date on their shots and vet visits. We have their vet records and they received their rabies vaccine on December 23rd, 2006.

Is it OK for them to get their new vaccine (rabies) at the beginning of November? It would be about 2 months early (give or take a few days) and I just want to know if this is safe. There is not enough room/time to explain why so could you please just answer the question. Either way they will get their vaccines whenever it is safe.

FYI, they have no health problems and have not come in contact with any other animals so there is no way they are infected with rabies. Just in case that matters to the answer.

If you could prove your answer somehow that would be perfect.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone know how to find a Guinea Pig breeder in Southeast Wisconsin? Yes, I have googled it and, yes, I have looked in the paper so please don’t tell me to do that. Also, anyone know a lot about the little critters?
We are toying with the idea of getting the kids one for xmas, since they have been beggin for one for months - kids are 11 and 9. Are they good pets and exactly how friendly are they - are they social, do they get lonely and need a buddy in the cage with them. Since we plan to have them out of that cage a lot I would like to hear from people that have them and how they feel about them.
I like the ones that have the long crazy looking hair, what are those called?
Thanks for your help!!
