No, I wouldn't give such a little pup a pig ear. Wait until he's quite a bit bigger, as they have a habit of splintering and he could easily choke, or cut his gums. Get him some rawhide bones, Ones that might seem a little too big for him, just to make sure he doesn't break them and choke. He's probably teething, he's loosing his milk teeth right now, So he definitely needs something good to chew on. A rope toy is also good, because then you can play with him at the same time as soothing his teething urges.

You didn't6 indicate what type of puppy but at this age i would not give him pig ears. I only give my dogs (3 & 4yrs old) a pig ear maybe once a month. They have teething rings that can be frozen or chilled before giving to the puppy. This will help. I can't say that sticks are bad for mine still chew sticks all the time. Do make sure he has something so he doesn't start chewing on the corners of the walls or furniture.

Major diarrhea from letting a pups chew on theses things. Raw hides are a no, no too.
Get some age approiate chew toys and a baby kong!

Take the sticks away. Like you said he is a baby! Teach him not to chew to give him something more appropriate. Look at a pet store and find something interesting. Just make sure you monitor the pup while he is chewing.

Pig ears are way better than sticks! Nylon anything is not good for a dog to chew on. They aren't natural and dogs don't really like them. I would be afraid of the dog chewing off and ingesting small bits of nylon.
If you can find cow noses they may be a good solution. They are softer than pig ears and dogs love them. I can leave my dog alone in a car with a bag of fresh juicy steaks, but not with cow noses! I think he knows they are for him anyway and he just can't resist!

give him a puppy nylabone or a puppy kong toy to chew on. they are both soft and perfect for this task. He is getting in his set of puppy teeth so he is teething.
He will teeth again in 2 months (usually they start to lose their puppy teeth at 4 months). So remember this for that time as well.
Right now my puppy is 4.5 months old. He is losing his baby teeth.
i gave him a bone to chew on since he is older and he loves that. I also gave him a puppy soft kong and a puppy style nyla bone.

no dont give dogs pig ears because they are very unhealthy for them. i learned that from animal planet xP and since hes a puppy, he's probably just teething, after the teething stops, he might stop chewing, when both of my friends dogs stopped teething, they never bit anything since. you should try getting them toys from stores or dog biscuits.

I wouldn't give him pig ears on the principle that it could make him sick to his stomach. Plus they smell bad and could cut his gums.
Give him other hard rubber chew toys, or a rope bone (one where the fibers can't be pulled out/apart) to chew on.

Yes go for it ! It will help him loose his baby teeth and get his adult teeth! Dogs love pig ears! It won't hurt anything if you give them to him. If you start giving him treats and toys now he will less likely chew on your things the older he gets. Giving him his own things now will help him identify his toys from your belongings. Good Luck!

ya what he is doing is puppy teathing and it will pass in a few weeks. my dogs love pigs ears and all kinds of things just dont give him "greenies" because the dogs chew them the swollow the rest and later it could get stuck in there body and many dogs die from it.
