Absolutley!

The canine is a very intelligent species and absolutley have the intelligence and brain caliber to dream. My puppy whines and barks outloud in her sleep all the time (sometimes wakes herself up) - their mind remains active just like ours does when they sleep.

Dogs&cats do have dreams, because they do have emotions. If your dog is barking or growling in his/her sleep, he/she is trying to defend itself or another in its dream.Same thing with a cat hissing in its sleep. The motions that they make during their sleep usually tell what they're dreaming about!

I hope this answers your question!

Yes but it is not dreaming as we know i..humans are special because of our ability to think in patterns and chain of thoughts. these thoughts are reflected while we dream...our mind processes worries thoughts desires and connections we could have made...similarly...dogs dream baout the events that happend that very day...not really from the day b4 or the past...dogs forget too easily.

My dog does the same thing. I would say they are dreaming. Always wondered what they would be dreaming about. Funny, huh?
