Mmmhmm. My cat's great-great-great-great-great grandma might still be alive since they can live so long and have babies born so early. They can be pregnant at as early as four months. It only takes a year for a cat to finish puberty, so yeah, they get pregnant WAY WAY earlier than a human can. Good lucks! Oh, and you don't have to get your cat neautered. I hope he doesn't pee around your house, lol.

Cats can get pregnant as early as age four months. At the vet hospital where I work we recently did an emergency C-section of a cat (still a kitten, actually) who had gotten pregnant by her brother when she was four months old.

It was a disaster. Her body was too immature to deliver successfully. A kitten died in the birth canal because her pelvis was too small, and we only saved the other three kittens with great effort. Then she wouldn't care for them, had no idea what they were...all she knew was that they had hurt her. Her milk didn't come in so the kittens had to be hand-reared and didn't get the benefit if the colostrum that precedes the milk and is so vital to kittens' health.

If a tomcat was chasing her, then she was in heat, and chances are he mated with her and she is now pregnant.
Don't count on her being able to deliver her kittens normally...she's too young.

if it's a stray, it more than likely has worms,
The age for spaying and neutering is 6-8 weeks, so there is a possibility it is pregnant. And the tom is the father, so he keeps her under watchful care.
At such an early age, there are many dangers to her health, being pregnant, she may abort, the babes, she needs the care of a vet.
If you want to keep her then get her to a vet, or take her to your local animal rescue organization. If you don't know where the rescue league, then take it to the police, they will get it to the right place, so that it can get a good home.

she could be .. but if she is its unlikely that she will carry the kittens to term .. she is just too small and too young to cope with giving birth..if she goes to term pregnancy last 64-65 days...

I think its great you rescued the kitten, you are right the previous owners should have had her spayed .. why should you pay out for it.... but if you are not going to get your tom neutered and you intend to keep the female kitten.. then you become responsible for whatever happens to it including unplanned pregnancies.

Perhaps you should be thinking about passing the kitten onto a rescue centre because if she isn't pregnant now she soon will be.

Female cats typically reach sexual maturity when they are about 4.5 – 7.0 lb (2.3-3.2kg), or between five and nine months of age. However, it is possible for female kittens as young as four months to go into heat and become pregnant! In addition, domestic shorthair and longhair cats may reach sexual maturity earlier than purebred cats, and free-roaming cats may become sexually mature sooner than cats kept indoors.

The length of pregnancy for a cat is 56 to 71 days. The average length is 67 days.

I have seen preg cats as young as 4 months so yes she could be pregnant.

You have 2 options either desex her now and the babies will be so undeveloped that it will be difficult to tell if she is preg or
Begin feeding her as if she is preg (feed good quality kitten food), keep her worming and flea control up to date. If she is a stray she may not have had all her vaccinations - speak to your vet about vaccine regime.

Gestation for cats is around 63days (57-65 days)

A queen's gestation era is sixty one - sixty six days -- in many situations around sixty 4. are you able to particular any colostrum or milk from her nipples (you will no longer harm her). if so, she is relatively close. She is youthful, yet she will have the potential to be ok -- that's like an 18 365 days previous human. My cats consistently permit me understand while they commence exertions. They get greater vocal, desire their tummy rubbed, do no longer eat. in terms of the place, she could do the chosing, yet while she sleeps on your mattress room, placed the container there. basically one -- a heating pad down the area, and a superb that opens and closes. as quickly as she starts, and you have the 1st toddler in there together with her, she will have the potential to be certain that's advantageous. (you will could desire to alter the towels after each and each kitten likely.) she would be in a position to't be on my own for this as quickly as she is in authentic exertions, until eventually you're prepared to possibility dropping her and the youngsters and desire to come again abode to a large number. She would not understand what's going on or what to do and she or he will have the potential to be scared and in soreness. If there are any issues there are techniques you could help (I pasted a link below). She could commence once you're no longer there -- yet once you think of she is close, close her on your mattress room and examine at lunchtime -- stay abode in case you could. with regard to the spay -- wait until eventually the kits are approximately 8 to 10 weeks previous as they could desire to be 10 weeks or which you will circulate to homes (happy you have them). mom could (probable) will come into warmth returned so shop her interior. additionally, if papa became right into a stray, she could have picked up leukemia or tom cat aids from him (:-() so have her examined until eventually you're particular -- and this could impact the kits too. right this is a super link on helping her -- good success. (I even have one month previous Abyssinians upstairs -- and it became right into a annoying transport and mom's 2d muddle -- they might have died if I even have not study this text -- backwards and extensive heads..)

At 5 months they can have their first litter, sometimes at 4 months. So at six, yes, most definately.
