Hey all. I am just curious as to what people are interested in as far as snakes go. Please list any and all snakes that interest you. Tell why. What about a certain species of snake fascinates you? It could be a Hognose Snake, a Spitting Cobra, A Reticulated Python, a pet Ball Python. Any snake at all. I have been researching venomous snakes for over 20 years and am just curious what other people think. Thanks to all in advance.

Peace

Mike

Gaboon Viper.
But I wouldn't own one because I wouldn't want the trouble of owning a venomous snake. Number 2 would be a Green Tree Python, but it would be cool if they stayed the colors of babies.

i have a ball python, she is the sweetest thing EVER! i think shes the best type of snake for me, i like the constrictors but i dont think i could handle a 30 foot snake. that just scares me. Also i would never want to own a venomous snake.

i would not be interesting in owning a reticulated python.
but i love my ball :)

My favorite has always been a Gaboon Viper. I love the pattern and the 'beefyness" of the snake. I have reptile/snake experience, but not with venomous, which is why I don't own my fav snake.

I have owned ball pythons, and have cared for rainbow boas, retics, red tails, corns, green trees, and rat snakes.

I have also been very excited to find three snake species in my back yard- green tree snake, corn snake, and copperhead. :)

I have a red-tailed boa and she is my absolute favourite. She is so placid and gorgeous, her nature and the way she moves. I also have a Mexican black king snake which is something to get used to compared to the boa. But she's also sweet. She has this cheeky way about her which is quite cute.

I would like to get a green snake from Africa as i live in south Africa. The colour is so intense and they are very docile and non-venomous.

I do like the puff adder as its a short but butch looking snake. I can only imagine what it can be like to handle that snake, but i will only admire it from afar as they are very venomous.

I guess the black and green mamba is also intriguing but am fortunate not to have seen one with no glass between us.

I recently found out that Africa has a few pythons. In my ignorance i thought pythons only come from south America. This python gets to about 6 metres long (i think 19.68 ft) and weighs about 50kg (110.22 pounds).

I agree the emerald green tree boa is absolutely beautiful all round, when babies right through to fully grown but they are very sensitive to care for so i would not get one.

Emerald Tree Boas are gorgeous, I wouldn't mind owning one some day, but they are a lot of work.

I love the western hognose. So cute, and they stay small too! I had one named Piggy.
