My bird just died and for Christmas I get a dog. But my dad doesn't want it to poop on the grass because he think it will kitt the grass.

I have a 3 year old cock cockatiel who loves fabrics, he is very protective and will try to kill a dog while defending a towle, blanket, pillow or anything. he almost ate my face once over me touching my knee because I was wearing pants.

what is with this species and things like this?

My guinea pig got switched to another brand of food. This food has sunflower seeds and I don't like it. I've been taking off the shells and giving her the inside, but should I remove them altogether? Also, what's a good brand of guinea pig food? I like foods that have little tidbits in them, and Brownie doesn't really like plain pellets. She needs to have a little variety in her food! Most guinea pig foods seem to have a lot of artificial coloring and it's hard to find a good brand.

Two nights ago we were driving home and had to stop in the middle of the road, because a little kitten was just sitting there in traffic. It made no attempt to flee from the cars, or from me when I got out and picked it up. The cat was riddled with flees, malnourished and bloated, and smelt like a dead animal in a garbage can. We went and bought some kitten flea medicine, dewormer, and soft cat food, and now the fleas are getting under control, her belly is no longer swollen, she is eating well, and has had two baths. However the stench of kitty has hardly diminished. Why does the kitty stink like a dead trash golem?

I was just doing some research on this one site and it said that those dots(forget the name of them) help tell the deffrence between male and female but didn't say how. Does anyone know? I already know how to tell by the anal area itself, but I thought I had a pair( was bought as pair, looks like pair when looking at vents). But the female has yet to lay eggs. I've had them for 9 months. They are both about 2ft long. I belive the male is a central beardie, the female a german gaint(due to coloring and that she is heavier than him and somewhat bigger) I also think he is somewhat older because he eats more veggies and she eats more feeder food. I know they don't lay eggs till 2 years old, but shouldn't they be at least that old? Any help apprieciated. Email me if more info is needed. katin_around@yahoo.com ,Oh yea, I forgot to tell you I bought them as a pair at an exotic animal auction aprox. 9 months ago, no idea of age when bought. Was told that she was already carrying eggs inside he

I got my hermit crab about a year ago. This week has been pretty bad for one of them. I have three, in a huge tank. This week started with the hermit crab's big pincher falling off. Then, he started moving. There was wierd bubbles in his shell and on his face. I didn't touch him. The next day, there was brown goo coming out of his shell, like diahrea or vomit. I stayed away from him. So, does anybody know what's going on? Is he carrying a disease?

My cat has these things all over her and I'm not sure if they're lumps or scabs or what they are, but they feel like scabs to me when I pet her. I don't know what to do, we thought it was from fleas or something biting her at first, but we put stuff to get rid of fleas on our cats all the time, and this one (i have 4) is the only one with this problem. Any ideas what it might be?

I saw this ad.

4 years female turkish angora, fully vacinated and spayed(sterilized) lovely and playfull.. reason: alergic member in the family for the second time! looking for a good home and a family with past experience with cats..

I sent the dude a msg about it & told him that I'd like to adopt it.

My question here is:

Should I be worried about anything from the cat ?
Should I ask him about any thing concerning the cats health, vaccination, or anything related to the cat.
eg. its got a spreading disease that can harm me ? maybe thats why he giving it out for free...
Btw, the cats so cute.

Regards

He is 7 1/2 weeks. He eats all the time and now the past 2-3 days he hasn't wanted to eat much and he has had the poops for 2-3 days. Any idea what could be wrong with him? He is acting normal......he is my 1st dog so i'm new at all this... Any possiblity he has some form of worms? I have not switched his dog food or anything...he is eating the kind the breeders were feeding him before i bought him. If anyone knows what i should do let me know.

Here is the problem... Toxicariasis is a terrible disease that can cause blindness and what's more it is normally children that get it. Not all dogs carry the larvae. It starts when the dog fouls. Children come along and play in that area and one child may fall over. The larvae from the dog foul gets on the to the childs' hand and if the child eats without washing their hands, eggs will be swallowed. The eggs will hatch into small bugs and then the bugs will look around the body for soft tissue. It may find the tissue in the eye and it will damage the eye. This damage can cause blindness. Did you know 100 people in Britain go blind each year from Toxicariasis?

I have posted a question asking if there is anything you can put on grass where dogs have poo'd, but have been told i am over protective... is there anyway you can kill this disease, i am not anti - dog as we own a dog and have done always. Has anyone heard of anything which treats the grass? Thanks

My dogs seem to love to eat each others poop in the winter time. We call these poop-sicles. It is a disgusting habit that we can't seem to break. Asked the vet about it and he said no particular reason for doing this, just some dogs do and some dogs don't. We try hard to make sure the poop in the yard is picked up daily, but they always seem to find some anyway. Has anyone had a similar problem and had any luck in breaking this habit?

I have two 4 year old healthy maine coons. One of them vomits from time to time and she makes a weird/loud coughing noise. I thought it might be hairball but it isn't. It's watery and dry food that she swallows whole. I don't know if I should switch to canned food or what. Can anyone help?

My animals have all had bad fleas for awhile now.
Once we noticed the fleas, mommy cat got pregnant, and kittens, and after those kittens got done nursing she got pregnant again. Now the flea problem is the worst I've ever seen it. Is there any way to get rid of the fleas in the less than one week old babies and their mom? Or do I have to wait until they are done nursing and hope mommy doesn't get pregnant again?

About about a year ago we took in a newborn male kitten. We bottle fed him and rasied him. now that hes a bit older we've been having problems w. him and the two other female cats. He's been nutered and the aggression between him and them is not sexual. However in the mornings he violently attacks one or both of the older female cats. He jumps on them and bites their neck...he doesnt seem to be hurting them simply because they dont have bloody cuts, but they dont seem to enjoy it. One of the girls makes a strange sound and runs away, but he runs after her.
I was just wondering if this is normal and is just play or should something be done to fix the situation. He is about a year old and still has playing energy....should we just play w. him more?

I used the stuff you sqeeze onto the back of their necks (Hertz brand) yesterday, but they still have live fleas. Is this because the stuff didn't work, or will it take more time?
