Snakes are not scary , in fact snakes are probably more afraid of humans.

The largest and most dangerous snake is the anaconda.
The world's dealiest venomous snake is the Fierce snake (Taipan) which is found in Australia.
The most venomous snake in the U.S. is the Mohave Green rattle snake.
The scariest is any snake you happen upon while hiking.
The best thing to do is back up slowly and detour....unless it's a southern Copperhead. Those snakes have been know to actually try and chase people.
A neighbor of mine had one try to chase him up his steps to his house while he was beating at it with a broom. That, is pretty scary.
I personally witnessed one trying to swim against the current of a river to get at our group of people. It never took it's eyes off of us the entire time, no matter where we moved on the bank.
Any kind of snake can be scary if you don't know what kind it is.

a couple i'd say... the anaconday is the largest and eat humans whole several times a year.... the black mammba is the most poisonis land snake and the are highly agressive and will chase you and bite several times! The olive snake is the most poisonis snake in the world but it is very dosile it lives in the ocean if you get bit by it your dead in 15 min.

The snake that deserves the most respect is the snake that you currently have in your hands.
That said, one of the most nerve-wracking snakes to work with its the Black Mamba (Dendroaspis polylepis). It is a very intelligent snake, like most all Elapids are. It does not have much of a "fight or flight" mentality. It is almost certainly "fight" at most times. They are one of the most aggressive animals that I have ever worked with.

I would say the giant anaconda from S America; length 20-33ft. Not only do they take large animals but humans.

The black mamba in Africa, actually prey on people or the cobra which spits venom in your face!
But although they are scary and can kill you, they are not in the top 10 most dangerous animals,neither are spiders (the animals which kill the most people each year) in the top ten are bears, hippo's and elephants.

I think a rattlesnake or a dugite (my friend was walking in the park a while ago and one jumped out at her for no reason) lucky she has good reflexes. if one of them bites you, you have 15 minutes to get to hospital

surely snakes are only scary if you have a fear of them? but in thier own way i guess all snakes could be scary, as they are efficient and silent killers in my veiw they are the most stealthy killers in nature.
