I used the stuff you sqeeze onto the back of their necks (Hertz brand) yesterday, but they still have live fleas. Is this because the stuff didn't work, or will it take more time?

our cats had fleas and i called our vet. they gave us a pill that killed all of the fleas on the cats, which worked wonderfully. i got the flea meds like you used but the brand i bought at walmart didn't work. the vet gave us one and it worked to keep any new fleas off after the pills. then, we bombed the crap out of our apt. which killed any fleas inside. after 2 weeks the combination of the pill, treatment and bombs finally worked! call your vet, this was the best way to treat fleas in my experience! good luck!

Take them to the groomer or vets and have a flea bath done on them... or purchase the stuff to do this yourself... if you really want to get all scratched up lol... Sometimes it takes a few applications, and then not all the eggs are killed and hatch... Also, be sure to really clean and deflea their bedding and any toys or cloth they play with as eggs may have been deposited on them. Also get some flea powder for your furniture... Fleas are extremely difficult to get out of those!!!

I find that the cheap stuff does not work. Ask your vet about flea foam. The little buggers drop of instantly. You may have to wait because you just treated them. Next time, get frontline Plus or another better product.

There is some question about how effective the Hartz brand actually is. I've always used Revolution in the past, and that stuff will work within minutes.
