My guinea pig got switched to another brand of food. This food has sunflower seeds and I don't like it. I've been taking off the shells and giving her the inside, but should I remove them altogether? Also, what's a good brand of guinea pig food? I like foods that have little tidbits in them, and Brownie doesn't really like plain pellets. She needs to have a little variety in her food! Most guinea pig foods seem to have a lot of artificial coloring and it's hard to find a good brand.

Well personally i wouldnt give them the sunflower seeds because mine almost chooked on them. I decided to use this

Um, guinea pigs are fully capable of eating sunflower seeds with the shells still on. I don't know where you heard otherwise, but rodents can definitely eat all seeds without a problem.

By all meaqns, please make sure the creature has no vairety in its diet. Gerbils in the wild Never encounter seeds with inedible hulls, so they have no idea how to get at the tasty stuff inside. These animals never get bored and don't need stimulating treats. Just give him mashed potatoes and be done with it.
Would you like it if you only got fed plan chicken mcnuggets three times a day? I mean without the tasty barbecue sauce??

plan pellets are the best. the colord bits are high in fat and other bad stuff. a great brand of guinea pig food is oxbow cavy cuisine. i use it and my piggy loves it. heres the link http://www.oxbowhay.com/Shop/showProduct.sp?PRODUCT_NO=47

this is what i feed my guinea pigs its a variety and no bad contents.You should get Wild Harvest guinea pig blend i buy mine at walmart its perfect
