One of my cats has a really shrill miaow and will miaow over and over until someone gives her food. There is only so long anyone can put up with it and therefore she is now fat. She'll also come into my room when I'm in bed and miaow next to my head until I stroke her, after about 10 minutes she'll bite me. She also bites most people she meets and bullies our other cat. And still I love her!

Cats nag BECAUSE we do their bidding! They know that meowing gets them what they want!

And yes, my cat and kitten both have their own unique way of telling me what I need to do and when I need to do it ;-)

My cat, Morrissey, will give a long, drawn-out kind of frustrated meow, then launch himself onto the corners of walls or on to door frames... he also scratches my boyfriend's stereo speaker when he wants to play with a certain toy...

My kitten, Pixies, just meows and meows and meows until somebody lifts her up to the sink to drink from the tap! One day we left it to see how long it would take her to give up (as she has plenty of water in her bowl). One hour later, she was still at it, so we gave in! She also meows to give the world status updates on her activities - for example "Meow" (I don't know if I can get down off this counter), "Meow" (I don't know if I can make the jump from this table onto that windowsill), "Meow" (What's that you've got there? Beer? Let me stick my head in the pint glass and try to drink it)

Bless 'em..... ;-)

xx Emmie

Thank God it's not only me!! My cat Fitzy has a tendancy to wake up a good half hour before the alarm every morning and will then proceed to sratch at the door/radiator or will literally walk all over us until one of us (usually me) gets up to feed him. I think they know that he's got us wrapped around his paw...
Wish i could give you a solution but yet to find one ourselves.. let me know if you have any luck...

The cat has you well trained. My two are just the same they never give in until they get you to do what they want. It can be very annoying at 2am in the morning though when they decide they want supper even though when I asked them before I went to bed they both just ignored me.

one of my cats smudge is nagging us to go to bed and it is only 22:15 and he won't be quiet until we go. fina meows when she can't find baby (bagheera) more so at the moment as he isn't well she was constantly meowing on saturday when bagheera was rushed to the vets till he came home. they will talk if they want their litter tray changing, food, water or playtime. or even just for cuddles. i am not likely to give in as easy as my husband who they have wrapped around their paws the have to nag me more often i am not as well trained as my husband apart from when he is away and they get away with blue murder as i let them in the bedroom and give them extra treats and cat milk only to make up for the lack of fuss from my husband. 1 person can't make a fuss of two adult norwegian forest cats and their kitten due to their size and weight.

Mine's comes and lies next to me and taps me on my arm with her paw till I pet her, if i stop the tapping starts again.

She also nags at me until I go to her food bowl and watch her eat.

The cats don't nag me much because they know I can out-stubborn them. But it's a different matter for my husband: They have him wrapped around their paws and they know it.

It's all part of the training process, you don't do what he wants immediately, so he has to keep asking!
Some cat owners are more difficult to train than others!

Two of my cats are, the first will meow over and over, as well as walk around my legs until I give her cat milk EVERYDAY at exactly 5pm. If Im not in the kitchen to give it to her she finds me and meows until I do it.
The other cat of mine will begin to poke me and meow at me at midnight everyday because he likes to sleep in the bed with me. If I dont go when he comes he stares at me and will just keep poking me with his nose until I move. And if I dont go to bed he will sit and stare at me whereever I am until I do. Its cute but quite annoying!
