I have a year-old green cheek whose beak is chipping and breaking a little. I'm worried this is due to a calcium deficiency, but he doesn't seem to go for the cuttlebone I got him. Are those mineral supplements any good? Any other suggestions? Or ideas about why his beak could be chipping this way?

5 month old Golden Retriever/Border Collie Mix
Mother-In-Law recommends Ol' Roy (She had a Golden Retriever before and fed him that).
Brother-in-Law recommends Science Diet, since a Vet recommended it to him when he had a Chihuahua.

i have three dogs a pit(male)rotti(female)and an american bulldog(female)and i've noticed for a while they all pee in the same spot they do this all over the yard first the bulldog then the pit and then the rotti in the same order every time they pee is this normal or just wierd

I've had my rat for about a year and hes a year and a half old. about a week ago he just quit using his back legs. I think that its just because he never does anything and he lost the strength in his muscles but im not sure. my m om thinks he was parallyzed but he never does anything to be parallyzed. My dog was recently hit by a car and taken away by the dog catchers. I feel terrible about it. They just left a note on my door saying he had been taken. They didn't say anything about him getting hit by a car or anything. The next day they say he's in the hospital and was given surgery. They also say he had worms. What kind of surgery would he be given and what are some general pet surgery costs?

I am looking for Midwest locations of Redbelly Dace and Rainbow Darters. I would like to set up an aquarium with Native North American fish to teach my children and their friends a little bit about nature around us. I would also appreciate it if you know of any locations with nice longear pumpkinseeds. Some varieties have beautiful red chest markings. I live in the Chicagoland area though would be willing to travel a few hours if necessary.

Last fall, I got a dog from the local shelter. He had a bit of a case of separation anxiety. I slowly worked with him to get him comfortable with being alone while I'm gone for short periods of time. Now, that it is nice out, I want to be able to leave him in an outdoor kennel while I am gone. I have practiced with him by leaving him out there while I am home, but he insists on whining and barking. He may or may not do this while he is alone in the house, but outdoors he may bother the neighbors more than when he is inside. Is there a way to correct, at least, the excessive barking?

He peed on the kitchen floor while he was barking franticly at a man at the back door, so I thought it was because he was scared.
But then the very next day when he saw my brother-in-law, he peed on him while he was in his lap being pet....
So now I'm confused why he has these accidents. First I thought it was because he was scared, but now I'm not so sure.
Could a bladder infection cause this behaivior???
why is this happening to him???
I don't think it's something he can controll....
