I have a year-old green cheek whose beak is chipping and breaking a little. I'm worried this is due to a calcium deficiency, but he doesn't seem to go for the cuttlebone I got him. Are those mineral supplements any good? Any other suggestions? Or ideas about why his beak could be chipping this way?

Mineral supplements designed for birds and made by a reputable manufacturer would be fine. I would be careful about increasing the use of a combination vitamin and mineral supplement however as some vitamins can reach toxic levels. If you are using a pelleted diet additional vitamins should not really be needed. You can also scrape some cuttlebone onto soft food like fruit. Beak abnormalities can also be caused by amino acid deficiency, particularly methionine. I include a small amount of cooked egg with my parrots diet to avoid this.
A small amount of flaking is normal as the beak regenerates.

I sprinkle prime vitamin powder over some bread and feed it to my guys that way. You could, as someone has already mentioned, scrape it onto their soft food or bake some egg shells. Other ways include baking birdy bread and scraping some cuttlebone into the recipe. Or you could try some small slivers of cheese. Some people find their birds don't handle cheese very well while others have had great success. If you don't want cheese you could try baby food with spinach in it. Salmon with the bones is another popular choice.

I'm not sure why your guy's beak is chipping. It could be anything from a lack of oil lubricating and softening his beak (easily fixed with Palm oil, found in any place that sells Caribbean/Jamaican foods) to a natural occurrence. if it gets really bad or you're really concerned, speak to a vet. They'd know more than what I could offer.

Your conure is only a yr old. He's still growing and playing. As long as you are feeding a proper diet (not just seeds) he should do fairly well. Pasta, white rice, brown rice, beans, lentils, barley, and a host of other veggies as in those high in vitamin K should be fine.

May i remind you that ALL conures have a blood clotting disorder that needs to be taken seriously too. So feeding your conure a diet high in vit K is necessary. So the peeling of the beak can be corrected with a better diet all the way around and not just worry about running out to the store to buy it's diet, when it's already in your home.

Good Luck!

Just pass to a well seamstress with each attire. Call forward earlier than you pass, and allow them to realize what you wish to have. A marriage ceremony get dressed has a tendency to take in plenty of room, and also you wish them to be capable to transparent a few operating room to unpack them. This is not an wonderful request, and they are able to do rather a couple of matters. It all is determined by whether or not there's a particular lace piece or side of the historical and new designs you wish to mix. But plenty of matters are feasible. If you have got a slim apron-like flap to make use of, you would additionally use it for side of a Christening robe in a while, as good.

Here's what I do for my backyard feathered friends, so maybe this would help in your situation: keep the eggshells of the eggs you eat. Fire up your oven to 250*, and bake the empty eggshells in the oven for 20 minutes. After the eggshells cool, break them up into little pieces and place them in with the food you normally give your bird.

Hope this helps!
