My dog hasn't been neutered and he keeps whinning at my door to be let out. There must be a b*tch on heat where we live and he wants her BIG TIME. He jumped my fence the other day and fell 20 ft to the ground. Please don't tell me to get him neutered as he's 8 and too old. He's a cross ridgeback......

I 'acquired' a goldfish in a very small tank before Christmas. He now has a bigger tank. When I set the new tank up I put the water from the old tank in the new tank and topped it up with water from the tap which had been treated for chlorine etc. I have been monitoring the water in the tank and everything appears to be OK or is heading that way except for the hardness of the water which hasn't changed. The water testing kit I have does not really tell me how to make hard water soft. Is there a product available that can help me out? (I am a beginner to fishkeeping and am on a very steep learning curve so be gentle!). Thanks for your help.

Since moving to our new home, about 4 months ago, one of my cats has started urinating in the floor right in front of the litter box, and on top of the litter box. I clean the box everyday, often twice a day, as I have multiple cats. This has never been an issue, as she is 3 and this has never happended until we moved. This is not our first move, in fact we have moved across the US from CA , to OH, to NC. The only thing I can think of is we now have hardwood floors, as previously we have always had carpet or linoleum. Any Ideas?

I am getting a saddle for my birthday in a couple of months and my mother would like me to start looking at options. I want a good, quality saddle that will last me a long time, but won't break my mom's pocket because we are moving. My mother told me that I can look at saddles that are under $700.00. Please help me! Thanks for all of your answers!

Pls help, my bf is driving me mad, he says that i am mean for not letting our dog sleep in our bed & has now taken to sleeping on settee with dog (sad i know), he is foreva telling me i am mean because i do not give in to her. at 1 point i refused to let her on the settee/chairs but he has given into her & lets her on them, anyone would think he is having a relationship with the dog i think she even believes they are as she is foreva by his side, sat on his lap for cuddles & cries for him if he goes for a bath or goes out for a while, he treats her like a baby i am now getting to the point where i am resenting the dog (& him). pls help & give some advice on what i can do.

I recently adopted a skinny pig ( a hairless breed of guinea pig), he looked like he was being misstreated. Anyways, his ears look like they've been burnt all along the edges, I've been putting polysporin on them and one cleared up but the other is not, is there anything else I can put on it, I feel so sorry for the little guy, he also seems to have bumblefoot on his two back feet and I heard there isn't a cure for that, is that true?

For the first 1 day it did not go poop at all, but for the size dog it is ate alot of food. The next day, finnaly he was comfortable enough to go. He went alot with no problems, but he just kept pooping. The last bit of his pooh had blood in it.

If this DOES NOT happen again, is there any reason for concern?

I have adopted this Tom cat because his owner was'nt looking after him,he was skinny and always out side of work,so i sneak him in and feed him but he decided to wee, which absolutly stunk the place out,he is house trained because i've got him a litter tray which he doe's use,,the question i would like answering is,,he's urine absolutly stinks BUT he has'nt been castraited,,i am thinking of taking him home because he has no life here and his owner is pants BUT if i got him castraited would his urine not smell so strong,,believe me when i say it's strong!!!! Its such a shame because he's such a lovely cat and deserves to have a good little life..So please if you know if it doe's make a difference to the smell of his urine could you please let me know..Before i get slatted for taking the cat,his owner is cruel to him plus the cat is over a year old and should of been castraited by now enyway.

my dog pippin had nine pups three weeks ago, since she had them my other dog (her daughter) has been getting in with them and snuggleing up with them,we have now noticed that she is actually producing milk and feeding them,we have tried to keep her away by shutting her in the kitchen but she makes such a noise it drives us made.her mum is quite willing to let her in with the pups and help clean and feed them as being a jack russell nine pups is quite a handfull. What i want to know is if it is ok to let her carry on doing what she is doing or can it be harmfull.

Before more answers come to my original question, I have 1) already checked into the legalities and I am allowed to import a pet bird (not going to US or Australia) and 2) I know of someone who just brought 2 cockatiels on an overseas flight and they were fine. If you are a bird owner who has ever flown with your bird, please let me know how it went.
