Alot of people here are talking about breeding their dogs. Then they surely must know the following and be able to answer me.
What is pack drive, what is prey drive, what is defense drive, what is fight drive, what are instinctive behaviors, what are learned behaviors? What is the difference between prey and fight drive? What is the difference between temperament and drive? And finally, which of these behaviors does your dog have in BALANCE with the others that you want to pass alone?

I'm specifically talking about on land. I'm pretty sure they can back-peddle in water, though I haven't really seen that either. They usually just go around corners.

Also, if a turtle is flipped over, can it flip back over?

I was thinking abut getting a Labrador but I have a Chihuahua and a cat. I know Labs are timid dogs. But will my Chihuahua take this okay. She is still young and gets along with some dogs. I just don't want to stress her out. I have introduced her to a black lab but she constantly barked at it. But that lab was grown not a puppy. What do you think?

I have a 1 and a half year old cat. A while ago we caught her peeing in a spot upstairs, so we had the carpet cleaned. A little bit later we started smelling the pee agian, so we figured she could still smell her scent and was still going in the same spot upstairs. Well then all of a sudden we could smell pee downstairs as well. So we bought a black light to detect where the pee was, and let me tell you it was a shock. The cat has peed in almost every other inch of the downstairs. The thing is I see her go in her litter box all the time, and I never have caught her in the act. She seems normal as far as eating and activity. Do you have any idea why she is peeing all over the house and what I can do to get her to stop?? I am desperate. Also any cleaning ideas to get the smell out. Any answers will be much appricated.

It's like in a previous life, she was a video game addict. I can't get her attention usually. Now even picking up the tv remote control, she thinks is a flashlight.

It makes me cringe when I see people dressing up their dogs and cats in jumpers and caps etc. Is it harmless fun, or just humilating them?

I got my Sheltie this bone that almost looks like a hollow cow spine or something and she loves it! However, she is eating it preety fast and my Mom said it could be bad for her. There are also are hooves, pig snouts (yuck!), rawhide bones filled with different flavors and so forth. I read that plain old rawhide are the only safe bones but my dogs don't like them! And what about bones from the butcher? Also, are the "new" greenies safe? I gave one to my dog for her weight category (which was really small) and she ate it within 5 minutes! She didn't "gulp" it though which I guess was part of the problem. Are they really digestable or only partially? HELP!

I have replaced fencing and covered it with a metal mesh, but he's figured out a way to rip that off. I then added a 2X6 poly decking material to the susceptible places, but now he's ripping into other sections. He won't be able to get out now but he's destroying my fence.

Now that the really cold weather has started how do you exercise your dog when it's below 10 degrees or so? Sweaters and booties from pet retail chains haven't really cut it for my dog, he still shivers and runs back inside. Any suggestions?

It is a fish only tank, can someone please tell me how to get rid of it?

I have been cycling my 120 gallon tank for 3 weeks now. Started with 6 zebra danios for 2 weeks and found out about fishless cycling so returned danios before they were killed by the ammonia. A few days after putting in ammonia to 4-5 ppm I started noticing white spots on filter head and on live plants and a few decorations. Should I let them go for now and clean after fishless cycle is done? I am in the Nitrite stage right now.
