I'm raising turkeys for FFA and only have about a month left. Most of the other turkeys being raised are bigger than mine. My Ag teacher suggested grease. What about vegetable oil? I know you can use it for horses, but what about turkeys? Anybody got a clue?

I stopped in a pet store this morning.

There were about 40 puppies stacked floor to ceiling in small glass tanks with wire bases. There was one puppy per tank; the same "type" represented more than once only a few times, meaning there were about 35 different "types" of dog available in one store.

I hesitate to say "breed." Only four of them were AKC-registered breeds. The others were Maltipoos, Schnoodles, your typical "designer dogs." But a conversation caught my attention:

MAN: Why's it so expensive? It's a MUTT!
WORKER: It's not a mutt; they're bred intentionally to cancel out health issues in each breed.

Curious what they were referring to, I looked at the cage and saw... a "BULLY BEAGLE."

MAN: So, how big will it get?
WORKER: Um...I dunno. There's his sister. (Points to a pup who looks nothing like the first one.)

This particular puppy was selling for the low price of $79.

Per month.

Aside from not patronizing these stores... what can be done?

My yellow lab puppy is almost 10 months old. He constantly needs something to chew on - whether its a toy or *sigh* the front door when he's outside. He is missing a tooth (or at least there's a space) on the bottom part of his jaw on the right side. Is he still teething? Should he have gotten it in already?

I heard about one person using it on their dog to calm down before shows. Wondering if it is safe as my cat is showing extreme anxiety of an unknown cause. Would you spray it on his paws or in his mouth?

I got her from a pet shop about 6 months ago. She would rather play with humans than other puppies. I usually get her around other Yorkies around her age, but she is still scared. Is there anything that I can do to make her less afraid?

My kitten is having dry heaves. Its like he is going to throw up a fur ball but nothing comes up. What could it be? Is there something I can do for him? Or do I need to take him to the vet?

I'm not sure which ones it was, but, all in one tank, I have a cichlid, 3 goldfish, and two rosy barbs. There were also three red tailed sharks, but the tank was becoming crowded so we moved one over to another tank to make sure it would get along with the frog and catfish. Earlier, I checked the the tank with the two sharks still in it, and the fish with large tails(i.e. all but the yellow cichlid), had had their tails nibbled on. Will the tails grow back, or will they always look torn up? Is there anything I should do to help the healing? All of the sharks are now with the frog and catfish, as they do not seem to mind eachother.

Yes Back again with Jack AKA Dirtbag Stories. FYI in case you were interested here is Jack: http://www.promodelshoot.com/jack/i%20need%20a%20friendr.jpg

The Classical performance. Along with loving women & food, Jack make a performance art of dumps. Pick the most embarrasing time / place and he will be doing his thing. The scene: A quartet from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra was playing a sunday performance in front of the Water Tower in Chicago. I was taking Jack to the park across the street and needed to cross in front of the performance & audience. Jack couldn't pass up this opportunity. Directly in front of the Quartet, Jack squats and take a horse side ****. Jack got a round of applase and just smiled and wagged his tail.

Any emabarrasing dog stories out there?

I have a 5 month old cross labrador/golden retriever puppy. She is sooooooooooo naughty. She runs awy with all my socks and chews the house to death. I walk her for 2-3 hours a day and she still is always ready for another walk. She's a nightmare........but when she puts her little ears down on her head and looks at me I just melt. Puppies really are the most adorable creatures on the earth. I forgive her everything she does and would miss her terribly if she weren't around.......funny old world isn't it?

I was sitting down near my kitten, and i held my hand. It kept closing it's eyes...but soon opened them again. After a few times of eyes opening and closing, i saw the had a little bit of water in her eyes. I finally got the chance to stroke her, strokes her for a few times. Then it started to make this sound, not so sure if it was a growl or a purr. 2nd time i stroked it's head, it moved back. I am hesitant to touch it, shall i just wait til it gains more confidence..and why did it open and close it's eyes?

Vet says it's because Shepherd has been hit twice - one truck - one SUV.
What can we do to help him get around?

One of my dogs had ear mites. We've dealt with this before, so I gave him the drops, but they kept coming back. Now my two dogs and three cats have them and I can't get rid of them!

I've treated all the animals' ears, given baths with flea shampoo, sprayed them with flea spray, washed every conceivable washable surface in my house (and car!) and they still have the mites. I'd like to avoid costly vet visits if possible, so is there anything else I can do at home to help this problem?

Thanks!
