It sounds like Ick. Separating from your other fish probably won't help, as Ick usually is a tank-wide problem. Do a 30% water change and treat your tank with Ick treatment. You can find this at your local pet store, and I believe Wal-Mart sells it as well.

Its probably ick which is easy to treat. Its available at your local pet shop or anyplace which sells fish. Its the only problem I've ever been able to treat successfully.
