I have a turtle I bought 5 yrs ago and I was told it was called a Red Russian wood Turtle. I can't seem to find any info on this type of turtle. does it really exsist or did they just pull a name out of you know where?

There are Russian tortoises, Wood turtles, and several other varieties, but no 'Red Russian wood turtles'.

No it's real, but it's really a tortoise or Russian Red Tortoise. Even though you associate Russia with being a cold country where no self respecting tortoise would chose to live, it does have arid areas that are warm enough for a tortoise to make a go of it.
