My kitten is having dry heaves. Its like he is going to throw up a fur ball but nothing comes up. What could it be? Is there something I can do for him? Or do I need to take him to the vet?

Have the kitten checked by a vet to be sure. It may just be a hairball he can't get out. A bit of butter or Vitamin E oil on the tip of your finger may help him. The suggestion about lots of water was a good one also.

Good luck. Give him a pet for me!

my kitty used to do the same thing, generally when he had eaten too much/too fast or when he had run around after eating/drinking - i was thinking of taking him to the vet but i just waited a day and he was fine
