I know someone that doesn't like animals, is this strange?

We got a call from the animal shelter early this spring, wanting a home for two white farm geese. We have a pond on our property, we took the geese and they have taken to living here well. We feed them each day, and they love being on the pond. My concern is this winter when the pond possibly freezes. My husband built a shelter for them, and they refuse to go in, We try to put their food bowl in there each day so that they will get used to going in, but they just drag the food bowl out. I have grown so attached to them, I don't want them to suffer this winter, but they seem to be stubborn. Yesterday the wind chill was 14 and very strong winds, they still stayed on the pond. They follow me around when I go out to feed them, one of them will let me pet it, but the other one has never let me get with more than maybe a foot and a half close to it. I just don't want anything to happen to them. They are so sweet. I just want to make sure they survive the winter. Thanks!

I just got a black ghost knife, and in the tank he was put into there is a large fake tree root type decoration (and I mean large). It has a bunch of holes and is completely hollow, but when I was cleaning it I noticed that inside it's sort of rough and bumpy, not a very good place for fish to be. Well, being an electric fish he had to feel his way around as he explored his new home, and pretty quickly he slipped into the hollow tree roots and vanished. I tried looking in there with a flashlight, but saw nothing.

Has anyone else had this problem? Do you think since he can't see, he'll get lost or something and die? I'm worried about it, since I know they can't see too well so he wouldn't be able to see the light outside of the log. Would his electric sensory system allow him to navigate out of there?

I don't think it's even been an hour since he's been in there.

Why are Dog the only to blame......If i had to choose between brain dead child or dog I would pick the dog any day any time

No dog should be murdered for Ignorant parents who cant look after their brat so they blam the dog who cant speak......the dog was only defending its self from.................

Savage child jumping / riding on its back

Poking pulling sensitive ears & tail

hitting abusing poor dog

picking up its puppies and mishandling them

I think the humans in that situation should be euthanized not the poor dog

Recently, I rushed my cat to an emergency vet . After conducting several tests, they determined that my cat had a growth in her bladder (it was either a blood clot or a tumor). My cat received IV fluids. In the end, it was concluded that I would be able to take my cat home and give her medication on a daily basis for what they hoped was a blood clot. So, I took her home. It's been about 5 days now and my cat has been acting depressed. She won't eat, drinks great amounts of water, is lethargic, and won't clean herself. When she drinks water, she paws at it first and then leaves her paw inside and stands motionless, something she's never done before. She also hasn't used her litterbox in some time. I'm wondering if the IV has anything to do with her behavior (I researched other sources and found that IV tends to cause disorientation and listlessness in cats), but I'm worried that she was traumatized by her visit (she hasn't been to the vet in 4 years since she's an indoor cat). Help?

My red eared slider is about 5 inches around. He has never been sick yet and is really awesome. It is just him in his tank and 3 tiny fish we got for him to eat but he refuses, they've been in there for about a month. (The 12 cent ones from Petco, he ate two before so we thought he'd like them again).
I went to clean his filter today, it was FILLED with thin, tiny red worms, about 1/8 to 1/4 inches long each. Most were still alive, wiggling around.
We've only been feeding him the HBH Turtle Bites from the pet store. (He refuses romaine lettuce, little carrot pieces) He used to love earthworms but it's too cold for us to find them anymore.
Any ideas why he's getting the worms? And, is it harmful to humans if we touch him?

My black lab is only 4 months. When we took her out of her kennel this morning there was blood in the kennel. We examined her and did n't find any sores or cuts. We assume that she's going into heat. But I think that 4 months is too young for her to go into heats. We are planning on getting her spayed but were waiting until she was 6 months. Could she really be going into heats already or could she possibly have some kind of infection? Please help!

My mom thinks that she might be. She is about 7 years old and is the "queen" of our house. When we had the bowl when you need to keep filling it up she would eat alot really fast then puke it up sometimes it the dish while eating. I think she started this when we got my other Cat a few years ago. Now that we have the Food dispencer she still does this but not as often. Does she have a problem?? Sometimes it looks like she is making herself puke. Should we bring her to the vet??

Last year, my cat climbed up my fake tree. He LOVED hiding in it. Will my real tree this year make him act like a "nature cat"?

I have a really sweet little dog that I adopted from the pound . I have had him three years and he is still so scared. I try to snuggle him and be really sweet to him but I am an extremley hipper person and I am always leaping and jumping through my house but my dog gets so scared. He immediatly cowls to the floor. He has never been abuse in my care and he was only 8 month old when I got him. He is a poodle/lab/ cockerspaniel. He is really peppy when we are running in the yard and playing but the second some one brings out a broom to sweep or I start jumping around he turns into an ex abused animal. Is ther anything I can do to help him realize I would never hurt him. Or is this how he is going to be.

I remember when we had about 8 fish in the tank. Then they all except 2 died out within a month. We cleaned the tank regularly, they were feed properly, and it was not crowded (We only had 4 fish in a 15 gallon tank at a time). Now we have 4 fish and none of them have died.

I recently had to put down my 8 month old kitten who i had since she was 3 weeks, my 8 month old male and 14 month old female were very close to her and always cared for her. Now that she has gone to kitty heaven my 2 cats just aren't the same, they wont eat and when they do its a few mouth fulls. They wont play with any of their toys and my 14 month old female is constantly looking around for her and meowing. Im worried they will stop eating altogether.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to help through the process of lossing their sister?
