okay i am sorry for what happened! The owner of the pitbull should have trained and socailize the pitbull better, there are nice, peaceful pitbulls out there! Alot of people breed for aggression and then let these animals loose! Too bad that you haven't encountered and friendly beutiful one!

As a parent of a child who was the victim of an unprovoked attack, I hope to hell all pitbulls are banned in every city where civilized people hope to raise children. Our city banned them, thank gawd.

Edit: For the post below, how am I rude for being paranoid about a breed of dog that is bred to be violent? I know they're animals, I'm the first one to say that lousy owners make lousy pets ... the fallback goes to the owner, each and every time. I'll also be the first to admit there are more attacks done by small breed dogs annually than pit bulls.

However, a poodle doesn't have the jaw power to rip a persons throat out, and a pit bull does.

It is not rude to have my own opinion regarding this breed of dog. It's my right as an individual. I'm obviously not alone in these thoughts or they wouldn't be being banned in city after city.

For the record, it's not only pit bulls I have this issue with .. I'll also lump rotweillers and dobermans in this catagory. These breeds of dog have intinctive violence bred into them, and they will turn. It's only a matter of time. You can deny it all you like, but it's blatant ignorance on your part to continue doing so without actually knowing the facts first.

After my son was attacked, I did bother to check the facts, and the facts remain that these dogs are a public danger and can (not will, can) attack completely unprovoked.

When someone you care about is violently attacked in your presence by one of these "gentle" animals, your view will change.

The person above is (%*&^%&^(%(&^%^**&^%&*^*&& rude as *&)(*&#)(@&)(*$&#)@(*&$)(#@$. They are animals, they don't know any better. They were taught what they do by piece of crap people. That's like us saying we hope your child gets banned.

Grow the hell up.

And I'll sign up.
