Last year, my cat climbed up my fake tree. He LOVED hiding in it. Will my real tree this year make him act like a "nature cat"?

I think it's more the location of the tree that will count. If you want to make sure he doesn't mark it, try placing it somewhere relatively close to his food bowl. He'll be less likely to spray there.

It's a possibilty, because my cats use clay litter and they like to pee in the tree water.

i have never had that kind of issue with any of my cats. if you are concerned that he might start marking, that is a different situation. with regards to urinating, you could always change to a different type of litter. have a great Christmas.

Try putting some lemon scent next to your tree.

If you don't have that try Ben Gay; they hate it just as much :)
