DONT GIVE THEM BENADRYL, try getting some herbal lozengers, tablets or elixir (whatever makes it easiest). Find one that contains echinacea, zinc, vit c and honey. These are safe for your dog and will help boost their immune system. But dont give them anything that is a medicated over the counter. They often contain things in too high a dosage for your dog.

If they are already on meds from the vet, DO NOT give them any OTC meds. See if they will lick honey off a spoon. For right now, just try to coat their throats, then get with your vet and tell them the cough meds they gave you are not helping.

Have they been checked for heartworms or kennel cough?

Coughing is not a Parvo symptom.

You've seen the vet and gotten meds, let the meds do their work! If all your babies have is a cold they might be uncomfortable but they'll get over it.
Don't give your babies other meds unless approved by your vet.
Best wishes!

You shouldn't give animals human meds without asking a vet...

Your vet did check for Parvo? Rotties are one of the breeds that do get this easier then others...
As for the drugs they are taking already, talk to your vet before giving them anything else....even over the counter drugs....
Sure hope they get better!

my vet recommended benedryl or claritin for my dogs asthma but I don't know how it works for coughing..i would REALLY check with your vet..We don't know your dogs and they do..they may need a different antibiotic..it may take a few more days for them to work...you would hate to give them something to make it worse or even kill them.
