I had my dog for about 3 years before I met my boyfriend. He knew I had a dog before he moved in...we been together for 7 months. Recently my dog ate rat poison and he helped the dog throw it up. A couple of days later when he was getting out of the car, he almost twisted his ankle because we was rushing and the car was slightly moving. (Yeah I know, I should of pulled over) But when I mention that I wanted to make sure that my dog was ok by taking her to the vet, he got all upset and said that I care more about the dog than him and we got into this heated agrument and now we're like in limbo bearly speaking to each other. This isn't the first time he mention that I care more about my dog than him. Is it me? I try to balance my boyfriend and the dog, but this isn't good enough for him. What should I do?

I recently rescued two siamese cats as i love them. They came from a breeder that had died. When i first got them 2 weeks ago the larger cat who is about 2 was using the litter tray no problem, but later found out that the kitten was not. They have both been in hiding since i have got them an d the kitten is only just coming to me now. Just wondered if anyone had some tips to get this little thing litter trained, i have read a similar question but my problem is there is no were quiet in my house as i have a four year old running round. My other problem also is that the larger cat is now doindg its business elsewere an has not used the tray for 2 days. I know they have been through a tough time but i dont know if i can cope with coming into the smell everyday. Any suggestions will greatly be recieved. Hannah

I have five indoor cats ranging from 8 years to 6 months. All resues. The four older cats are all neutered males; age 8, 7, 3, and 2. My 6 month old kitten is a female, scheduled to be spayed next week. All has been well with them until recently. My 3 year old male, Jimmy, has suddenly become aggressive toward my 2 year old male, Fritzer. He began by chasing him, which we first thought was just play, but it has escalated to the point that Fritzer is very fearful and hides except to come out at meal times. Our vet said they will work it out. He said that it would not be caused by our female kittten possibly coming into heat, becuase all males are neutered. The aggresor cat has always been the first one to accept new cats into the household, so this is very surprising. The fearful cat is very sweet natured, and not one to cause trouble. Our house is very large, so there is lots of room for all. Please help me with a solution as I do not want to part with any of my babies.

She was the runt of her litter, so she's very tiny. She's very lovable and very playful. Any suggestions for a name?

I have 2 hamsters which lived together and one of them died. The other one seems to be not as playful as before. Is it suffering from depression due to the other one's death or is he normal?

Ok, so I know I've given many others advice on grieving a lost pet.

The truth is, I haven't grieved my dog I lost 6 months ago. I'm aware that I HAVE to allow myself to grieve. I have not because I feel so helpless and the sadness is overwhelming.

I got Maverick 15 years ago as a puppy from a shelter and as silly as it may sound to some of you, he was my soulmate. Having gone through my teenage years with me, the birth of my son at a very young age, as well as all the other major changes in my life in the last ten years, he was my only constant. He meant everything to me. I sometimes feel that he could still be with me had I not put him down. Like there was soemthing else I could have done. I can't talk about him let alone think about him. I have his ashes in an earn with his collar, a treat from the neighbor (who babied him) as well as a snip of hair from his tail. How unhealthy is my reaction? What am I supposed to DO?

PLEASE, no smart a** comments.

Would you give a former street cat a home?
I've recently set up a website aimed at getting some kitties that live on the street near my place into homes. It has live streaming video of the kitties needing homes at night, and my kitties in the day. For awhile I was getting a good response, but now it's quietened down, and I need to figure out how to get it happening again! Ideas?? It's for a good cause...I"m paying for the desexing etc.... the site is http://www.kittiesinthehood.com
Thanks

Yesterday my boyfriend took my dog to the vet and she recommeded that my dog either A) be put on medication to stall the onset of Arthritis or B) Have surgery for luxating Patella (at $1500 per knee)
Here's the catch: My dog is very active, happy, and healthy. I have never noticed any symptoms of luxating patella at all!! I'm suspicious that the vet is trying to make a sale.
Has anyone else experienced this type of situation?
I'm definitely going to get a second opinion, and if they disagree I'm switching vets.

I adopted by 7 mos old. husky/lab/shep/terrier cross (not really sure....I guess you could call him a purebred mutt..lol!!) from the pound so he is at a local shelter all day for the procedure?
