most vets at no charge take in native wild life & fix them up & give them to a carer to mind until they can be released
you might want to be the carer
but take it to the vet first

no! they are indigenous to the south pacific region. either adopt it or see if a local vet or pet store has any ideas. do not release it. you could not only be breaking the law by introducing a non-native animal, you'd be sentencing it to an almost certain death from exposure or predators.

best bet would be to call a Wildlife Rehab Specialist. Call the Game and Wildlife in your area, they should have the info you need.

It might be a good idea to take it to an animal shelter they will know what to do with it and take care of it well.

If you don't know how to care for it, find an appropriate rescue to come pick it up.

is it wild to start with or was it someone's pet? if it was never wild, it won't survive out there.
