I rescued him when he was 2. He was and is always jumpy. I walk in the house and he hides. If I stand up from the chair, he runs. I absolutely cannot ever pick him up. He doesn't scratch. His eyes get huge and he starts to pant. Any clues or ideas?

On Saturday while my brothers were out a small baby kitten entered the house. We fed it took care of it.But it never feels comfortable. It never sleeps comfortably. At night my dad doesn't permit me to bring it in.So i bought it a shoe box and filled half of it with rags and after we tuck them in it sleeps there. It sleeps nearly at 5:25 AM .And if we come out as silently as possible at 8:15 AM it would still be awake. Is it normal?

I had one for 16 years. (!) And I've been looking for another one for a year and a half, but it's all minis, minis, and more minis. I don't want a "show" animal, just a pet. I'm getting to the point of looking for a doxie/beagle or doxie/terrier cross, which might be easier to find than a Standard. Yeah, I've looked on the various websites, nearest place that had one was four counties away. Too far, unfortunatly. So what's with this craziness, anyway? The Standard is only 1/3rd larger than a mini!

I take her out side every day in the morning( before work) and in the evening ( after work) she does her thing. but why does she still pee and poop on the floor? she does NOT have a urinary tract infection.

I have recently purchased a seven month old Doberman. Thus far I have spent 24/7 with him. We exercise about two hours, go "out and about" three hours, and play about two hours every day. At any point when we have free time he only wants to sleep; is this normal?

Also, how much should a 7 month old Doberman eat? I have been told that the breed does not have problems with overeating but he eats about 6 cups of food and 4 snacks per day. Is this too much?

He is in the aquarium with two other black tertas and four platties. All the other fish are behaving normally and look fine. The tetra in question, however, is staying away from the other fish and is spending time behind some plants at the bottom of the aquarium...before today, the three tetras always stayed together. The red marks on his side are definately new and his eyes appear larger than before. Any ideas?

I have two dachsunds, one pure blood miniature and one mixed breed. This fall I'm plagued with Great Horned Owls that are considerably reducing the stray cat population. This evening I actually saw one of these BIRDS try to get my mini-doxy. We're talking HUGE BIRD. This sucker had at least a four foot wingspan. I'd actually guess closer to five feet. HUGE!

I'll be donning my bath robe and bedroom slippers when I let them out at night now, and clutching my old 16 gauge loaded with bird shot, but there must be a deterrent, eh? If I must I'll buy a regular "dog kennel" with a mesh roof.

My doggies are not part of the food chain! I live in South Central Kansas if that helps.

Yes birds are beautiful, but in the bird world it's the males that are the more colourful for the mostpart.

Regardless, who started this? Why?

Someone who wanted to have sex with the barnyard chickens?

What should I do? I have asked friends who have siamese and they are always cleaning themselves, but my cat wont. She always has a dirty bum. How do I get her to clean herself before she goes all over the house?

This is a 2 yr old rat terrier-a rescued dog who until recently has been perfectly housebroken. Why would she suddenly begin peeing on the carpet? She has ample outdoor time and is outside during the day.

I just recently got a fantail goldfish and bought a 2.65 gallon Marina Goldfish Starter tank for him. But as I read more and more about goldfish care over the internet the more I'm reading about 10 gallon tanks being most proper for the well being of any goldfish or 2 gallons per inch (goldfish length).
