What should I do? I have asked friends who have siamese and they are always cleaning themselves, but my cat wont. She always has a dirty bum. How do I get her to clean herself before she goes all over the house?

First of all judging by the age the kitten do not worry just yet. Mommy was lax in her butt cleaning job. To get their kittens to use the bathroom mommy cats lick their baby cats privates to stimulate them into peeing/pooing. Then mommy cleans her baby's behind or pee pee part.
Sometimes the kittens don't clean up their butts. I have a young kitten with long fur. I had to clean her butt and fur around her butt when she first moved in. After a while "Foxxy" started doing it on her own.
Just encourage your kitten by using a baby wipe every time kitty goes poopy. After a little bit of time kitty will put 2 and 2 together.
If not then by all means call your vet for advice.
Good luck with your baby!
~Ciao~

My Siamese doesn't always clean herself. It is very annoying, but not much you can do about it. If it is an excessive problem than make sure you have wipes to clean her bum and thoroughly wash anything she messes on. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you, Siameses are a bit more difficult than other cats, but they sure are lovable and cute!

This must be a Siamese thing, because mine is almost 10 and doesn't clean HIS bum, either! Sadly, I never did figure out what to do about it ... I just keep some baby wipes around and clean him up a bit when he needs it.

I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. My kitten also didn't start cleaning herself until she was at least 4 months old!! Now she is a NEAT FREAK!! It'll happen... I guess it's almost like us humans learning to walk. She did learn how to use the litter box, right. So just be patient! Baby steps...
