She's 5-months old -- today she went from totally fine to really bizarre. We went to the park today two hours ago and she was fine -- ran around, fetched, drank plenty of water. Bowel movement this a.m. was okay but I think she chewed off a lot of tree bark after that today. Now she's shaking like a leaf, hiding in the strangest corners/spots within the house and just stares at me. She hasn't thrown up or had diarrhea yet. Seems like her temp and breathing are normal. I don't want to take her to the hospital and pay ridiculous exam fees -- any thoughts?

My boyfriend and I have finally called it quits after trying for 6 years. We don't live together, however, it was his idea to get a German Shepherd dog about 2 months ago. He is a 4 month puppy now and we decided that it was both of ours when we got him. The dog favors me and I love it more than any other pet I have ever had...I love it like a child. However, I feel like I can't take this dog away from my ex because the dog has another dog to play with there and my ex's family is really in love with the dog too. We were transported the dog back in forth between us, but I don't know if that would work now...I miss him terribly and have been crying for 2 days and I don't want him to think that I abondoned him because the last time I saw him to say goodbye, he looked at me so sad and knew that I was leaving? Is there a way of staying separated from my ex but still having the dog in both of our lives????

i've been going out with my boyfriend for 7 months and we're talking about me moving in with him.

I have a very lovely 6 year old cat that i love very much, and whilst my boyfriend likes him, he worries about cat hair getting everywhere, and cat scratching / ruining the sofa, or the wooden floor.

I think its a real problem which can prevent him and I having a great future together. Any advice on how i can avoid furnitures being ruined or cat hair getting all over our clothes?

I have 3 Baby Cockatiels that where born October 18th and they still look like they are newly hatch, they are still pink covered with yellow down; eyes closed, feet, beak, and claws flesh-colored but they are getting bigger but nothing else is happening. It is NOT inbreeding for I bout the parents at 2 different pet stores, can it be that they do not have all the vitamins and minerals from the food the parent are feeding them (99% of the food in there crop is millet) so, should I start hand feeding them?
Please do help me out!!

I pull off a few for her to eat a few times a week at most. I haven't noticed any ill effects in her. I can't figure out why she likes celery so much. I just want to be sure there won't be any long term effects and that there isn't a serious unerlying medical reason why she is attraced to the celery.

I adopted two 8 week old kittens from the shelter on Thursday night. A beautiful male and his gorgeous little sister. By Friday morning they were both sneezing so I took them to the vet immediately. The little boy was sicker than the other as he also had watery eyes and a fever. The vet did tests for Feline Leukemia on both and they were negative. Phew! She sent me home with Clamavox and some deworming medication. They are both eating medi-cal development dry food and drink a lot of water. Today the boy is very congested and is open-mouth breathing sometimes. I am cleaning their noses and eyes with warm water and take them to my steamed up bathroom for a few minutes when he is very congested. Should I be doing anything else to help them? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Well, my neighbor across the street has 4 dogs. All pits (Sugar, Honey, Haze, and Berry). Sometimes he'll let one dog at a time off the leash or out the kennel. But the dog NEVER goes out his yard. If the dog sees me walking my two dogs or something and he starts walking over, he'll say, "Ah ah, ...Don;t you go there..." or some such other small correction, and the dog turns around and stays in the yard... I don't get it. And he JUST got Berry a few days ago, and Berry already listens to him and doesn't go out the yard... None of the dogs are fixed. They're breeding them. Haze is the only male, the rest are females... And also, when I rollerblade with my dogs, some people have dogs in their yard and the dog will bark or run up to the edge of the yard, but won't ever leave it. And no one's around outside witht the dog... I highly doubt it's any kind of electric fence or whatnot b/c many dog owners here barely take care of the dogs, much less spend money on an electric fence...

Our Dog has a terrible oil and smell that accumulates within hours of taking a bath, she is a mutt (no clue what types of dogs). she been given steroid shots, coal shampoo baths, a venicin (deer meat) dog food diet all reccomended by our doctor, and she also bites her feet uncontrollably till she rips skin! What is this, why does it happen, and the question i want answered most is how to treat it? Thank you soo much for any possible input.

I am pretty sure my dog as an allergy of some kind. She scratches all day long. Poor thing. This has happened before about 6 months ago and I took her to the vet they put her on a medicine that made her pee ALOT and she often peed while in her sleep so I took her off the meds.

I was wondering if it safe to give her some benadryl and see if that helps. She is a 45 lb. Choc lab mix.

My cockatiels have always lived indoors but I'd like to build them an aviary in the garden to give them more space to fly about in. Is it best to wait until next summer to move them outside or will I be able to move them outside now? Will they be too cold or will they be OK? Thanks
