I just adopted a kitten who is six to eight weeks old and was born feral.
He is quite debilated with a touch of pnuemonia and is underweight. He has an eye problem that the vet is not sure if it is just an infection or what. She gave me eye drops to give him three times a day, and it looks to be on the mend, but is very swollen, red and crusts over easily.
I have been bathing the sore eye with disposable cotton pads and warm water to wash away the crustyness and help ease the pain.
My question is...does anyone have any suggestions to further ease this sore eye problem?
He is on amoxicilian (two doses a day), and just had his first vet visit complete with baby shots.
He is eatting very well, drinking well and using the litter box ffrom day one too!
Thank you for any advice you can give me to help him.
PS He will be getting neutered as soon as the Vet says he can, and even though he is a total indoor Kitty, he will NOT be de clawed because I think that declawing is evil.

I believe I discovered what they ate within 2 hours of ingestion, I called the vet and she had be induce vomiting, I inspected their throw up and found the poison pretty much intact, some bright green was mixed, but their food was still intact and the same color as it was when it went in, I was instructed to induce vomiting one more time until they threw up clear fluids. They never appeared sick at all and still don't and it's been almost a week but have been on the vitamin K1 since, along with pepcid AC and sucralfate. Their appetites don't seem to be affected, although my larger dog hasn't been able to tolerate her milk bones like she used to, now she throw it up, but she tolerates her regular food just fine.

I am not sure whether this belongs in "pregnancy" or "dogs", so I apologize if it is miscategorized. I am 5 and a half months pregnant, my husband and I have a 70lb rescue mutt (Emma). Since I began to really show over the past few weeks, Emma has become incredibly protective over me. She was protective to begin with, but this has gotten significantly worse (for lack of a better word) since I began to get large. She is always within 2 or 3 feet of me and does not want anyone to come near me. When my husband and I goof off (tickling, wrestling etc.), she thinks he is hurting me and gets in his face and growls. I am not complaining at all, and I am not worried she is going to hurt anyone, but I am a little confused. Has anyone had this happen? Can anyone offer input?

she would dress up as the rider and i would dress up as the horse. i would wrap her blanket around me, put her polo wraps on my arms and legs and put her fly mask on my face. i would just put a skirt (or something like that) on her butt, some sort of shirt on her, and cowboy hat and sunglasses on her face. do you like this costume for us?

she's very nice so she wouldn't mind being dressed up.

we leave 3-4 bowls of food around the house and have tried differant foods but she choose not to eat them. So my husband feels bad for her and cooks her dinner along with ours. she is healthy but still so skinny.

First thanks to all those that responded to my other question about my new cat Tweek.

As I said earlier I got Tweek from a friend of mine that couldn't keep him because she had to move. Other than Tweek being kind of a freak, hehe, the only problem is that I have a mild allergy to cats. Ive had cats before I had allergies but in the last few years Ive grown somewhat allergic to them, mainly watery and itchy eyes. Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can keep my allergies in check OTHER than PILLS?

I clean house for a couple of raise champion german shephards. I do everything I can think of to make the place smell good. Thank goodness they don't have carpet. I mop with clorax and pinesol. It will smell good for a while, then it is back again the next day. These people are clean they just have to many dogs. But this is thier business.

A friend told me she had to give away the family cat when she was pregnant. She said one can loose the baby if a cat is living in the same house. Is this true?

My 2 year old is of course very active and all over the place. She loves to give my dog a kiss or a hug and constantly walks by him because our house isn't that big. Lately, he has been grumping at her and I don't like it. He doesn't use his teeth, but he gives a little grump. How do I stop this? He doesn't do it to anybody else.

We put our Red eared slider in a man made pond we built for him in our back yard, the water was sort of cold but he seemed to enjoy it. We knew that they would fall asleep in cold temperatures i the winter but we need to know how long they sleep during hibernation and how long they can hold there breath while doing so.

My 4 year old Cockatiel just laid an egg. She was sitting on it but then started to do what she usually does. I also have a male in the cage but why did she only lay one egg?
She is not sitting on it for awhile. Should I take the egg and put it under a light or should I just leave it there?

I know, this is gross.

Occassionally, I get a mild case of athletes foot. (Only on the outer toes of my left foot. I don't know why). My dog sense that I have the condition and will lick and chew on my toes.

It grosses my wife out, but I love it.

This is a rescued horse with a lovely nature, but he seems to be in pain sometimes. He "dribbles" and spurts a lot, especially when excited or stressed. He sometimes seems to "waddle" behind, maybe because of urinary scald. I've tried many antibiotics based on urine tests, vet used catheter to check for blocks, but nothing. Had Chiropractor out a few times to realign his bones. Sometimes extremely difficult / dangerous to ride, probably due to discomfort. I've had him about 6 months. He was extremely thin when I got him but is in good condition now, except for incontinence. He's on a very good food mix and gets appropriate supplements, including bicarb. Spent many thousands on vets so far and we aren't rich so need to target my approach. Is next step an ultrasound? please help!

Im moving into some new apartments and I was wondering what would be the best kind of small dog to get, my mom has a shi tzu and she seems to be a great in house dog, I need something pretty quiet, but a good protector, good with kids and gentle.

I was just curious who has purchased a kitten from a breeder before? I was wondering what steps I should take to protect myself. What forms do they make you sign and what should you do before you put down the non-refundable deposit? If anybody could give me a list of good steps to follow from begining to end, that would be very helpful. Thanks!
