I know, this is gross.

Occassionally, I get a mild case of athletes foot. (Only on the outer toes of my left foot. I don't know why). My dog sense that I have the condition and will lick and chew on my toes.

It grosses my wife out, but I love it.

He's trying to heal you.

You're part of the pack. You're his alpha. He's attempting to make your feet better for you.
But I will say this. As much as you like it I'd suggest against it. I mean I love my dog as much as the next person but she licks her genitailia, and anything that smells sort of like food (or did smell like food at one point), and that puke in the park, and that poop she found in the woods durring her walk. My point is you really don't know what has been in your dogs mouth. As much as you love him, he may be doing more harm that help.
Also if you have medication on your feet and toes for your athletes foot it's probably not good that you're dog is practically sucking it off. Lol
Sorry to be a downer,
Hope this helps, good luck,
~manda

Dogs will lick any part of your body because the human body has a slight salt taste to it.Licking your athletes feet means your dog needs doggy counseling.lol.(just kidding). That is disgusting but my dog will lick my feet and I dont have athletes feet or stinky feet.I stop him from licking my feet.I think my feet phobia is kicking in so thats all I can say.lol

My JRT (Jack Russell Terrier) does it too. It's because you have lquids on your feet that the dog likes the tast of.

Yuk..anyway..powder feet..wear socks. Dogs have a keen sense of smell, and I believe it may remind them of carrion...(dead stuff) or it may be trying to heal it's owner.

He's not really licking your toes , he's trying to clear off his tongue after licking himself! He's using your feet to wipe it on.
Now that's gross.
