Well, great family dogs are Golden Retrievers. They are sweet, lovable, and fun to be around. They are great with children and adults.

This is just my personal opinion though.

Good Luck in finding a dog. ^_^

WHEN I WAS 4 I WAS REPEATEDLY ATTACKED BY MY GREAT GRANDMOTHERS CHIHUAUA. WHEN I WAS 6, A LITTLE JAPANESE PAPILLON THAT I PLAYED WITH ALL THE TIME ATTACKED ME. 10 DAYS LATER IT CAME THROUGH A SREEN DOOR AND ATTACKED ME AGAIN. I'M AFRAID OF SMALL DOGS. ANYTHING LESS THAN 50 LBS CAN SEND ME UP THE NEAREST TREE. HOW OLD ARE YOUR KIDS? APARTMENT? HOUSE W/ YARD? WORKING? THERE'S ALOT TO BE SAID FOR RESEARCH. TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS/FAMILY THAT HAVE DOGS. THEN GO TO A SHELTER. THEY'LL HAVE YOU FILL OUT A SMALL QUESTIONAIRE AND WILL MATCH YOU WITH THE RIGHT DOG. MAKE SURE IT'S A REPUTABLE SHELTER. ASK A VETERINARIAN TO SUGGEST ONE.

I really don't know. There are thousands of breeds and I could never be able to pick just one! For me, I personly like small dogs, but some big dogs are cool. Take this test and you will see what kind of dog is best for you. Good luck!

I like Daschunds. They are very sweet dogs. Corgis are great too. But the best breed is mixed breeds! Most are so even tempered and get the best of the breeds they are mixed with.

Please adopt and save a life. Check www.petfinder.com. You can search by size and location. Guaranteed you will find the perfect dog for your family!

depending on how much space and time you have, a Jack Russell Terrior is WONDERFUL. Ours is 10 years old and is the smartest dog I've ever met. Another choice is a YOUNG chichuahua. If it comes into a family with existing children, he will think they are part of his pack and adopt them like he would a litter mate. Another good choice is a Shiz Tsu sp? or a mix. Cairn Terriors are good too..remember Dorothy's dog on Wizard of Oz?

I have had Boston Terriers for the last 10 years, they are small, very loyal to their owner, easy to bathe, and have a great personality. I have one now, Bubba, he is 2 years old now, and is sweet as can be. I think you would not regret getting a Boston. Good luck to you...

Well I was going to say Yorkie but there are so many others. Go to the kennels and just take a peek at whats being offered. You may be surprised as to what you would pick.

Selectsmart.com has a dog breed selector. You just put in your criteria of the kind of dog you're looking for and it'll give you a list of dogs that'll be most suitable for you.

My favorite dog breeds are German Shepards and Bassit hounds. although you want a small dog, I'd go with a shiz tsu or a daushand (weiner dog) all small dogs can be b*tchy because they have to compensate for their size. I'd rather have a large or medium size dog than a small dog.
