Our iguana is a healthy green color and normaly eats pretty well. We have been giving him alot of calcium, he gets it on his food, we bought calcium gravel for his cage and he gets a calcium spray once daily. We also have a heating pad under the aquarium to keep him warm, change his water every other day and bought a special UV light. The brown discoloration of his back legs and tail has changed to a healthy green and he uses his back legs much better but somethin is just not right with him. He seems I don't know like off balance or lethargic or something. Is that normal as he grows or could there be something in our city water that is bad for him? Maybe I should start buying bottled water and see if that helps. Any advice????

I have a 1 year old Siamese that just WILL NOT stay off the kitchen counters. I've tried everything--spraying him with water, pushing him off (don't worry, I don't shove him, I'm not mean about it), putting foil up on the counters because my mom told me it'd keep him off...nothing works! It's gotten so bad that I have to yell at him every ten minutes or so to get him off the counter. He is neutered, by the way, in case that makes any difference. What can I do to keep him off the counters? The "bar" that separates the kitchen and living room is too long to put any kind of barrier up.

I was just sitting on my couch playing with my mom's pup. I was rubbing her belly and playing with her. Before I knew what she was doing, I felt something warm on my leg. I picked her up and she had peed on my leg. She has never done this before. Is it because maybe she had to pee and I was rubbing her belly?

The lump appeared in one day, it looked like a piece of gravel just under the skin. While he was swimming it burst open and some stringy white stuff came out. It looked like fatty tissue, the lump has decreased in size. It does not look like carp pox, or a tumor, or hole in the side disease. Has anyone ever encountered this? Could it be a reaction to the eco-start nitryfying bacteria I have been conditioning the water with? I just did a 30% water change two days before the lump appeared. The tank is cycled & stable with a top filter, with a biowheel. I add about a capful of nitryfying bacterial culture at each water change along with the de-clorinator. It is a 20 gal tank shared with one other fantail. Should I quarrantine lumpy?

I have a 20 gallon community freshwater aquarium which houses 5 guppies, 2 platies, and a dwarf gourami, oh, and one otocinclus. Could I still fit a mini school of 6 neon tetras in there?? I have an air stone and a filter, but I may be getting a new filter sometime, onne of teh aqua clear 30 gallon filters. My water temp. is about 79 constant. Can I fit some more neons, and if so, how many would you reccomend?

It is rather funny behaviour but he just sits there while we brush our teeth and sometimes stares at the tap, he then stays there a while sometimes lying down in the bath then jumps on our bed later on. I am serious by the way.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?we have two female dogs(both inside dogs& and Spoiled rotten thats probably the problem), one is fixed and the other one has a medical issue and because of that we can not get her fixed. One is a wiener dog and one is a jack russel terrier. Either one will start the fight. Both will latch on to ears or legs and we can not get them to let go, even though both dogs will be crying in pain niether will let go.we have tried what we have heard of as the wheel barrel method, where u grab there legs and it makes them lose their footing and let go. BUT it does NOT work. We have tried everything from beating(desperate meas.) them to putting them in the bathtub and running water over them to trying to put sticks in there mouth to pry it open or even choking them until they are coffing. BUT STILL they dont let go until they tired 10-15 mins into the fight. Im not worried about getting hurt or bitten, im more affaid that one of the dogs will be injured so bad that it will perminate

I have a Basset Hound that my family got just a little over a year ago, he was a rescue animal from hurricane Katrina. He has been doing really well, we think he is somewhere between 2 and 5 years old.

The poor animal has been through alot, but I'm really worried about him. When I woke up this morning there were reddish brown stains on the blanket in his dog bed. I checked him to see if he was hurt and didn't notice anything.

As he was walking away from me though I saw that his but was covered in something red. I called him back over and lifted his tail up, there awas a red mucus-like substance stuck to it and after wiping it away with toilet paper it looked like there was another hole it was coming from.

The hole it was coming from was about the size of a small pea, and looked more like rip ing the skin. I've heard that when some dogs get scared they "drop their sacs." is that what happened or am I right to be worried?

We recently adopted a 2yr old dog from a farm outside the city, and ever since, she has been terrified of everything. As soon as we got her home, she went to her crate, and has only been out once in 48 hours, even though the door has been open 90% of the time. She shakes whenever I or my girlfriend are around. She's not eaten much, even when the food/water is in the crate with her, and has only gone to the bathroom once, on her way to the backyard. Will this fear of everything dissipate over time, or is there something we should be doing now to get her out and about?

Hi there, we have two kittens whom were taken from their mother at an early age and dumped in a drain. We have had them for about 8 months now. In the beginning, they were happy to suckle a pink blanket, which didn't bother me the slightest. NOW, they've taken to suckling ME - and that is bothering me. They latch onto my clothes and suckle away! I am left with a HUGE wet spot and because they're big now it's starting to hurt. I have tried to move them back onto the blanket but they just keep coming back for more!!! HELP!
