`Perhaps he has deemed you not to be worthy of the effort. After all, you are the servant, designated to care for and amuse the cat. It's not the other way around.

Jeez that does not sound normal for a nine week old kitten. i have one and he just never stops playing. Try catnip on a small toy and if you have no joy I think you should bring him to the vet as he sounds depressed. did you get him young as he could be pining for his mother or weaned too early? Whatever happens give him loads of love and affection and I'm sure he will come around and become a beautiful loving cat.

Try tickling him, sometimes they get bothered and then they get REALLY playful. I got my cat when he was old already, like 2 years old, but my cat has been playful. I found him in the streets, and my cat is so adorable, she has 3 colors which are White, black, and orange. Anyways, try tickling your cat, or your cat will eventually play with you when he grows up. If he still doesn't play, then ask a vet for suggestions.

Well have u done anything that might have upset ur cat it is known for cats to have twisted personalities and sometimes u do something to upset it and not knowing, or maybe ur cat is sick. u might want to take ur cat to a vet and if ur cat isn't sick u probably have to find away to gain it's trust or just keep trying to play with it until it does play it might take awhile but it will get there.

Try a flashlight, they like to chase the light. If you just got him, him may need a while to get oriented and comfortable enough to start playing.

Has he been checked out by the vet to ensure he is healthy?

Is he eating properly?

Try fuzzy mice, string, bouncy balls ... leave them out for the kitten.

Would you want someone forcing you to play if you preferred to contemplate? His outlook may change with maturity.

well first see if he is healthy. if he is he could just not be a social cat. some cats are not playful.
