I shut the door, I spank him, but I should be able to keep my door open. He comes in and immediately jumps on my bed or my moms.

No need to hit him, that only makes him afraid of you. All you need to do is grab him by the collar when he gets on your bed and drag him off of it. Once he is on the ground, make him sit and tell him "NO!" Stay in the room and pretend to ignore him and when he tries to hop on the bed again, block him and say "NO!". If he falls back on the ground, that's fine. It'll sink in after a few times.

Evidently you are young. BUT that is still no excuse because you do have a mother.....YOU NEVER, under any circumstances, hit an animal or another human being unless it is to protect yourself in self defense. You will ruin the dog. How would you like it if every time you did not do what you should your mom hit you? Would that teach you anything positive???

Why not train the dog? If you don't know how then look for a class. If you are not interested, find the dog a good home. An animal is a responsibility. It is a living, breathing thing.

here is my advise dont spank him for it just push him off the bed and use a sturn voice and say NO!!! and when he comes in the room and learns not to jump then praise him and reward him with treats,,, he finally learn you have to be consistin with it that means keep it up and he will finally learn not to jump on the bed or you can try keeping him in a crate at night then he will learn that is his bed. hope this helps and good luck

Spanking him is the perfect way to teach him that you can't be trusted! Since it's obviously not working, why not try training him? If he goes to jump up, tell him no, then REWARD him for not jumping up. Obviously while you're training, you can't leave the door open when you can't watch him, maybe put up a baby gate for those times. You need to be consistent, he'll get it.

Get your dog his own bed. Such as an infant bed. They are low on the floor, use a baby bed mattress and can usually be bought cheap at yard sales or Salvation Army,Goodwill, etc stores. Teach him/her that is his bed.

hit him on the nose with a rolled up paper and use clear and loud language telling him to stay the hell off of your bed. or you could get a horse and keep it on your bed so there is no room for the dog.

Mousetraps. It will slow him down next time, at least. It won't hurt unless he lands right on one, and then it won't hurt much. You can use a spacer so it won't snap down on his paws. We did this for a cat that jumped on the kitchen counter. If she starts thinking about it again, we just set the mousetrap off ourselves and she goes away.
