My golden retriever is 6yo and she has a hard time getting up stairs. She hesitates and then starts and then hesitates and eventually does it. She doesn't seem to be in pain at all, but could this be an "old dog" problem? She certainly never has a problem getting onto the couch! LOL! I didn't think 6 was old since my previous 2 dogs lived to be into their teens.

I feel bad that those poor poor fish have to live in there!

I feel like I should help. Does anyone know where you can get a couple of saltwater catfish? If so, what do they cost?

We rescued a dog, a small Bagel (a Beagle/Basset Hound mix) and brought her home. My cats are reacting very meanly. Normally, they are good with other cats, but have never been around a dog. They walk around the house with puffed up tails and attack the poor thing if she tries to walk. Also, my son was sitting my the dog, and the younger of the two cats scratched my son on his face. They have NEVER scratched or anything like this before!

I know it is just the first day... but is this likely to get better? How long should it take?

It's been going on for months, at first I thought something might be irritating him/stuck between his pads etc but there isn't anything to be seen. He only stops when I tell him off for it.
I've spoken to a vet about him who suggested washing/drying his paws which I did but it's not helped - is this a nervous/anxiety thing?

I have a one year old "Ragdoll" female that is fairly quiet most of the time. As soon as I lie down to sleep, she lays down with me and starts meowing like crazy. I've tried ignoring her, squirting her with water & petting her (not all at the same time) in an attempt to get some quiet. Nothing has worked. As soon as I'm up, she stops. Her vet says she is very healthy and she gets plenty of attention so I am stumped. Any ideas that would help?

I'm getting a small 2.5 gallon MiniBow. What kind of fish should I get? I would get three medium fish, OR 5 small fish, OR one goldfish of any type. What kind of fishies should I get for it?

He's a normal weight, gets enough excercise, attention etc & I haven't changed his dog food at all.
It doesn't happen every day/night but regularly enough & god does it pong! (I still love him despite his stinky butt!) :o)

My two-year-old female cat has been defecating on our bathroom mat for the past few days. Her litter box is kept clean and fresh as often as possible, so it's not that. I'm not sure why she has been doing it. It may be to mark her territory, since my housemate's male kitten has been coming into the bathroom, and she likes to drink from the bathtub faucet and considers the bathroom "her" place. Can I spray white or regular vinegar to deterr my cat from using the bath mat as a personal litter box? What else could I do?
