Deer are often carriers of leptospirosis. Make sure your Aussie is vaccinated against it and keep her away from it whether vaccinated or not.

Other than the "Gross Factor", I would be concerned if a wild animal had some kind of parasite that wouldn't normally be introduced to a domestic pet. I would consult a vet to be on the safe side. For some reason, dogs consider other animals poo a delicacy. Go figure.

Not likely, sadly dogs like other speicies' poo. Don't encourage it though, it doesn't do much for their breath. Make sure you dog's shots are up to date. If you want to stop it, put some cayanne pepper on some deer poo, then let her at it. Your dog will learn, poo-bad and hopefully stop it. It is isn't an encouraged activity.

If the deer was sick, it could possibly cause the dog to get sick, otherwise, altho gross, it probably won't hurt him.

My pom just got really wobbly and sleepy looking. She then puked up the poop. Should I have consulted with a vet?
