Use dish washing soap, it had degreasers built in, also try using conditioner after, it also softens and may help remove residue. Then you may need to use your hair shampoo to get the hair back to softmess. hurry!

Okay, don't panic. Call a vet right now, or if you can't, look on the intenet, on google, and type in vet, but put wherever you luve. Say you live in Colorado, type in Colorado animal hospital, or vet. Or go to petco or petsmart, or the store, and get some dog shampoo, or baby shampoo, dish soap.

Try bathing him in regular Dawn dishwashing soap. It will strip the oil from his fur and skin. Dawn was used on the penquins after the big oil spill awhile back. Don't use this too often though, because it can strip his coat/skin of its natural oils.

Good luck and hope this helps!

You can use Dawn dish soap. Wild-life rescuers use it on birds and mammals to get oil out after oil spills. This will be easy on his skin and is a lot cheaper than dog shampoo

Dawn dishwashing liquid works the best. It is also the one they use to remove oil from water fowl when there is an oil tanker leak.

want I would do is go out and get some strong (but not that strong) dog shampoo. then I would give him a good wash. brush his fur out with a wire brush. if the oil still hasn't come out I would keep up washing a brushing him until it comes out. DO NOT give him a bath right after a bath if it doesn't come out! Wait a few days. If the oil is really bothering your dog, go to th vet and they will wash it out.
P.S. your dog sounds really cute! we used to have a geman shepard, but he died.

What id do, is get him out, get him in the car and run him to the doggie hospital. Oil isn't a fun thing to mess with, and the 0only thing that could really get it out is basically dish soap, unless you get him to the hospital and check him over for wounds as well.

He should be fine, just use some dish soap to bate him and watch for complications. If he seems ill, see a vet, but if he hasn't consumed any, he should be fine. Watch out for skin conditions for the next few days.
