Ok we got a Chihuahua and I know now that was the wrong decision for our family due to I have a toddler and she can't stop playing with the puppy(6 months old), So I am going to talk it over with my hubby about adopting him to a family or someone without small children. I am wondering if a Husky or Greman Shepard would be better because they are bigger and more durable to handle a child who loves puppies and want to play with them all the time.
We moniter our daughter when she plays with the puppy we have now and we displine her and let her know what she can and can not do with the puppy now and I know she is still young but I am affriad the with the puppy we have now and how small he is and his bones I don't want to take the chance of him getting seriuosly hurt. I know with a bigger dog they are a little more durable and thier bones are not that small but still the same effect can happen. So I am just wondering if a bigger breed of dog would be better with a small child.

My 18 yr old son left college and he has a beagle hes about 3 yrs old. He always slept with my son and every where my son went he followed him. Well since last week that my son left all he does is cry in his sleep and he wont go into my sons room to sleep, hes been sleeping in my room but he wont let me sleep.
What can i do?

My parakeet,Baby,died a couple days ago and I don't know why! on the morning the day she died,she was just fine.i checked on her to see mt hello like i alway do and she was dead.i looked at her to see if anybody hurt her or something like that but there were no signs.do you know anything that could have happened?all i want to know is hoe she died.Help!!!???

I have a puppy and her name is PUPETA... we were going to name her poupee witch means doll in french but because we speak spanish we changed it to pupeta because shes a girl... so we added the ta....

I have two dogs, a jack russell terrier mix (11 lb) and a boxer mix (25 lb). I want to run with both of them but I'm not sure if the smaller one can keep up with the larger dog and me at our pace. Is it bad for the smaller dog if we try to make her keep up when her legs are a lot shorterr? I've never run with dogs before, what is an acceptable distance for dogs to run?

I arfue with my mom over how she takes care of her cat. She scoops the litterbox about twice a week. She never actually empties and washes the litterbox only adds more litter when it starts to get low. I think this is disgusting. I think she should scoop daily, and completely change/wash out litterbox once a week. What do you cat owners out there do?

I need a Great Pyrenees puppy of ANY origin, just along it isn't lab,retriever,terrier, or collie. I don't care where it comes from, it's history, just as long it has all of it's limbs. I wanted a rescued one, but we don't have a shelter any where near me. If any body knows if a Pyrenees puppy needs a home I would really appreciate it!

I got a boy chiwawa poodle mix and my girl boxer black lab mix is obsessed whith him my family thought she would get over it but she hasn't. will she ever just let him be.
she won't even let him go potty half of the time she goes then when he tries to go she pushes him over.
What should I do (giving up a dog isnt an option.)

a 100 gal in the L-room I have a 10 gal in my b-room, a 5 gal in the bathroom, another 5 gal in the baby's room, a 50 gal in the dining room, another 10 gal in the kitchen, and a 25 gal in the master b-room. My parents like the ocean.... i guess that's why we live on the beach. some are salt, some are fresh.... but do you think that this is like so wired?? My friends think that it's cool.

She hates to be left alone, even if my other dogs are around, she is pretty much a "human", she doens't know she is a dog, and that's very hard for her to accept. She is quite a problem, I always get complains. I've tried pretty much everything except for the shock collar, I don't really like the idea of using that. She has a lot of toys.
Is there a solution for this, or she will never stop barking when left alone?

I have a purebred chihuahua and I would like to stud him but I have no idea how to go about it. He's not registered as I got him from a breeder that breeds chihuahuas for pets not show so I could only breed him as a pet too, but he's very cute and in excellent health as were his parents and I think his puppies would make people happy. What I want to know is: what age can I start breeding him, what should I look for when agreeing on the dam and how much would his "services" be worth (I live in a big city where even unreg puppies go for $900-$1200)?

once in a while ill accidently kick the cat while im walking to the kitchen or bathroom ect. after that i feel bad and pet him or give his a snack, i think he figured out that if i kick him he gets food and he has started to fake it whenever i pass by him he acts like i kicked him , this is annoying but hes making me look bad infont of my friends.....like i 'kick my cat when noones around'......

I have been using lizard litter for my beardies, it's sooo lightweight & easy to clean! Buuut...,I recently realized that it has crushed walnut shells in it, which I am highly allergic to ;-( and I HATE using sand for (various reasons). I think Vermiculite is my best bet, but it's very salty & I can only find it in 5# bags. If any good reptile luvr can help me, i'd be greatful.

My baby Leopard Gecko seems to have a spinal injury or a muscle spasm. His back is arched at a strange angle and his spine isn't straight, he's been like this for a couple of weeks now. Is there any kind if treatment I can provide for him?
