I've had him for a year now and I take excellent care of him. I'm just wondering the average life expectancy for Beta fish.

His name is Spartacus. :)

I have two cats. They are both only 5 months old. One uses the box fine and the other one won't. She goes right NEXT to the littlerbox though.

My boyfriend surprised me with a kitten for an early birthday gift. It's the most adorable thing ever but she keeps meowing and won't stop! I keep thinking that maybe she's sick but she seems healthy besides itching her ears once in awhile.

The other part of this is that I can't keep her. My landlord absolutely refuses to have cats on the property. I don't want to get rid of her or hurt my boyfriends feelings. Besides everything is signed over in his name he is the legal owner. So I'm not sure what to do with her. I also don't want to give her back to the pound because I want her to have a good home. How do I go about this? and how do I get her to stop meowing so much? lol

There are hundreds of thousands of pigeons cohabiting w/ humans in many cities, but one rarely sees a dead pigeon. Why is that? where do the dead bodies go?

My cat started sneezing earlier this week, i have taken her to the vets and he gave her an injection and 6 days of synulox tablets. I took her to the vets this morning again because she was sneezing and there was blood in it and her eye is weeping, he has given her another injection and told me that it's the blood vessels in the nose bursting like it does in humans and to keep an eye on her. I am not sure whether the tablets are working straight away or whether they have to sit in her system for a certain amount of time, like ours. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Ok, the story is that my girlfriend needed to spend a couple weeks with her mom while we are in transition from a long distance move. Well, come to find out that her mom's dog has contracted fleas, and her mom is too lazy to deal with the problem by actually taking the dog to the vet and having her flea problem dealt with. Well, we know how to solve that problem... What concerns me, is that in a couple days, we are moving my girlfriend out, and into our new apartment, and we do NOT want to drag any fleas with us. What concerns me is that the dog had been sleeping on my girlfriend's bed, and my girlfriend has been itchy and has had evidence of bites on her. Some of our gear was also being stored there for this brief time too. What I am truely worried about is the fleas traveling with us in my girlfiend's soft goods (clothing, etc.). How do we deal with this?

My friend's dog is very sick. He shows all the symptoms of parvo. I was just looking around the internet and i came across a virus called distemper. The symptoms are similar to parvo. But when i was reading about this distemper virus the one of the symptom is diarrhea. It doesn't say bloody diarrhea and my friend's dog has bloody diarrhea. Is it possible for a dog with distemper to have bloody diarrhea also? Her dog is also coughing. Do you think is more likely parvo or distemper? Which virus has a higher chance of recovery with care from a vet? Which virus is more dangerous or deadly?

i think its just allergies, but figured i'd ask. my 12 week old aussy shep has about 10 or so little pimple/ingrown hair like bumps on her tummy and "privates". they dont bother her, and after a day or so, they scab and then go away and then a few days later new ones pop up. we think she's allergic to grass, as soon as she goes out she starts sneezing and has watery eyes (my other dog has those two and we were told it was allergies by our vet). only thing is when we got her 4 weeks ago abouts, she didnt have much hair on her tummy and now its growing in so it makes me think it could be ingrown hairs, but they dont hurt her. i've had ingrown hairs from shaving, i know they can hurt, but we can touch the little bumps without her knowing we're touching anything at all. anyone seen anything like this? they really do look like little pimples tho.

We were unable to schedule our puppy to be spayed this summer and she has just gone into heat. We will schedule the surgery this fall. We are concerned, however, if we have hurt her by waiting as she will now have the surgery after her first heat.

My pup was born with a bone disease called Vagus Deformity (sp?). He has double bone growth in his front legs and his joints are really stiff. He gets a lot of exercise and this seemed to work well over the summer but now it's getting colder and I notice him limping quite a bit. A vet told me to put him on glucosamine tablets. I bought human form because I was told they are more concentrate then canine form. I started giving him 1/2 of a 500 mg tablet twice a day (so essentially he is getting all 500 mg, just at intervals). Is this too much? We had a boxer die at an early age from kidney failure (genetic and 7mos old). We take so many added measures to keep Bower healthy, we don't want to go through the pain again. But I just don't want to over drug him or make him sicker. He has only been on the glucos for a week and already he isn't limping as much and putting more pressure on it. Good signs but I just wonder if anyone else gives their dog this? What are the effects?

To all those who answered my question about breeding with my dog, if I wanted a whole lot of useless criticism I wouldn't have asked the question. I have two Xbreed dogs and they are just as good as any pure bred. People xbreed all the time and we wouldn't have half the breeds we love without that. Maybe you should think about offering constructive answers instead of using this forum to unleash personal resentments and anger on others. I am disillusioned by this process as I thought I would get something constructive out of it. To those that tried thank you but I don't wish to buy another dog.

When crate training puppies is it better to leave them in for an extra hour if you have something you have to do. Or to come home let them go and put them right back in the crate.
