Oh i hate spiders too! Two things... You can use regular bug spray and spray it or it's web. or (this is something i learned from sneaking out to have a cigarette), if you smoke you can light up a cigarette and blow the smoke at it's web. I don't kwow why it works but it does. Of course the fact that it kills the spider in a day, probably means i should quit...

Firstly put rubber gloves on. Secondly (with arm fully out stretched) holding shoe/boot/hammer in hand hit spider as hard as you can. Have kitchen roll at the ready to scoop up mess (again at arms length) and flush down toilet. If you miss - scream blue murder and get a man to help.

no dont squash it..,take it and put it outside..,thats what i would do..,but i can understand some are affraid of spiders..
but i'm wondering how massive is massive..
anyway..get a big glas jar or a bucket, and you will prolly be able to catch it,without even the spider knowing that you catched it.
spiders are usualy only aware of a few inches around them,it prolly dont know your there..
enjoy your hunt.

for sure dont squash it.. think of all the help that spider has been - every big spider means alot of other bugs were eaten - woo hoo

simply place a glass jar over top of him/her and slide a piece of paper under the jar so you trap the spider in the jar and then can scoop him/her up and remove from your home to the great outdoors

You can vacuum it up and then tape shut the vacuum for a week. You can buy spider traps at Wal-Mart for future spiders. You can caulk shut openings in your home.

"oscars" that's what we call the little(or big) beggers.

get a pet lizard - then u're on a winner all the way - spiders will eat the flies/bugs then lizard will eat the spiders... their great as can walk up walls and all sorts of things and some of em change colour too

i sreiously cant believe how many people have responded to there fear of spiders surely if we all keep hitting them, stamping on them they should become extinct carry on with the hard work whack away my daughter was grading at her karate (brown belt) we were all told to be very quite !!!!!!! and along came this huge dragonfly these are spiders with wings i hate these because you cant get away from them they attack you and then disaster struck i screamed and screamed and ran towards ny daughter and made her so imbarrassed but luckily she still past her grading well done to my little darling

Put a glass over it, slide a piece of paper of card under the card, thus trapping the spider. Then throw it out the door/window!

I'd move! Seriously, any good ant/spider killer spray will do the trick. You can buy this stuff at any garden center/hardware store.
