It's not the mouse itself that's scary to people, it's the thought of the prospect having to kill it. Personally, I prefer the humane live traps.

I was not aware that people were so scared of mice...
I am aware of the stereotypical female expression "Eeek, a mouse"
but they often say the same thing about roaches and other vermin.
Its a girl thing...It is cute....Us men get to rescue them and kill the beasts...And of course...We get our feminine rewards of gratitude and praise for slaying the dragon...

LOL. So true. He walks on 2 feet, not four. He's black and white with red pants and he entertains, (voice is kinda annoying). He doesn't drop turds in your house, a nasty color brownish grey, carry all types of diseases and scurry across your feet in the middle of the night.
