Our cats have fleas and we've tried everything. Are there any real alternatives to Advantage? We have 5 adult kitties and 4 kittens, so advantage is cost-prohibitive. I'm allergic to flea bombs, but I haven't reacted badly to flea powder, so I could sprinkle that liberally on the floor, if need be. Suggestions, anyone?

I recently found a puppy. He resembles a German Shepherd but his ears are not pointed. He is only about 2 months old, so I was wondering if they could still perk up.

I am very uneducated when it comes to fish. I started out with an orange fish and a yellow fish (I have no idea what kinds). The yellow fish died shortly after I bought both of them. However, the orange one is still alive and had babies about one month ago. Now, I see a whole new litter of babies. About 9 or 10. How can this be? Does anyone know how I might find out what kind of fish these are and how in the world babies showed up one month apart when I have only one adult fish in the aquarium?

Probably from the food he is eating. Just wondering if I should change his diet at all. Feeding him canned Friskies and 9 lives and leaving out hard food. Also giving him pounces.

After research on the net, I determined the turtle is indeed a malayan box turtle, (Cuora amboinensis). It is 5 inches in length and from what I read is still a bit young and seems to be a female. I understand that they are a bit rare now. Specially where i am, the Philippines. So, possibly it was imported from another more ecologically diverse and pristine area or region and may have escaped from its "owner". I, however, want to believe it is wild and that they still exist in the nearby forests and wetlands. Are they still in the Philippine forest? Will it survive with proper care in captivity? What is its primary food, what does it eat and need to survive? thanks.

My cat Friskey recently became very sick all of a sudden. I took her to the multiple clinics and finally ended up at the U of I small animal clinic where they did an ultrasound. Basically, in a nutshell, all her blood work and other tests came back fairly normal with the exception being a very elevated wbc count (42,000). But she does not have an elevated temperature. The only clinical signs she is showing is lethargy and vomiting, but that has subsided in the past day. The ultrasound reveled a small nodule on her liver, but her liver enzymes are normal. The next best step (or so they say) is a biopsy of the liver and small intestine. I don't know what to do, if I should go ahead with the surgery or what. Oh and my cat is 16 by the way. And this was really sudden, before this all she had was slight renal failure and borderline hyperthyroidism. Otherwise she was very healthy and active...I am very distraught over this.

Honestly. If your dog is seriously bleeding from a head wound from a fatal contusion, why loiter around on the computer when you could be driving to your vet? Come on people. Show at least a scrap of intelligence here.

My dog is almost a year old and I found him chewing a piece of oleander stick after I trimmed our bushes. Ever since then he hasn't eaten and he keeps throwing up. It has been four days now and we are taking him to the vet tomorrow morning. I was just wondering if the oleander made him sick because I can't find anything else that could have made him sick like chemicals or poison.

Lots of white people I know love $ too much. All they talk about is how they are going to make an extra dollar. They seem to forget about the beautiful things of life. I cant even hang out with my white friends anymore. They make me feel like I need to worry about $. I make good money, but I do not feel like I need it to make me happy. Are you guys naturally and historicly greedy or is this something your parents teach you? Look at all the corporations damaging the earth....They are all run by white people.

White people, please dont beat around the bush.....Answer this question truthfully. You guys know exactly what I am talking about when I say you are greedy. Please dont put your feelings into your answer.....FACTS PLEASE! I have posted this under pets because I know that you people like pets more than some ethnic groups.
