Probably from the food he is eating. Just wondering if I should change his diet at all. Feeding him canned Friskies and 9 lives and leaving out hard food. Also giving him pounces.

Read the ingredient list on ALL the foods this cat eats. If it has either milk or liver, eliminate that food from the cat's diet. Despite the stereotype about cats and milk, they don't digest it well and don't need it. Liver is in many canned cat foods because it's cheap, but it causes digestive disturbances for many cats. We can't assume that just because a pet food is expensive, it doesn't contain these cheap ingredients that can cause problems. And cats aren't always smart about their food; many of them enjoy eating stuff that's bad for them and then have unpleasant symptoms.

Try cutting out one thing at a time and seeing if that makes it better. Once you figure it out you may not have to switch his entire diet.

Also, is there a reason you're giving your cat only soft food? Crunchy food can be good for your cat's teeth... and would you want to eat baby food all the time?

Remove the canned food. Give him only dry. Wet food is the cause of this. Maybe leave out the cat treats for a while also and see if it subsides. If not, take him to a vet to see if everything's okay.

Check with your veterinarian to determine if your cat is in good health. In some cases gas can be a sign of a health problem. Other then that it could be the cat needs more roughage. Check out these websites:

It has to be the food. I only feed my cat dry food with an occasional Whiskas pouch. No stink! I also give him Purina for Indoor cats and he is doing beautifully on this!
