My 7 yr old siamese got very sick,no eat/drink & lumps on her tummy, we found were filled with pus as 1 exploded, took to vet & they said it was mammalary gland infected. Total cost of everything they wanted to do was $975, which I don't have, so for about $100, they gave me 1 week of med/office visit & a shot.said to watch careful & try to get her to take food/water. At end of week much better, so I took rx to regular pharmacy to save $$(cheaper by $25) the bottle they gave me was 4 times the size the vet ordered. So after the next week of meds like vet ordered, I had lots left. She was all better, but now another lump is here. The rx is amox tr-k clv 200-28 5/5 sulek & says discard after 10 days, which would have been 8/14. Pharmacy won't refill without another vet visit, and I have not enough money for that for another month. I want to know if this med is dangerous for kitty or just pharmacy way of making more money? Please help us.No free services in my town to get her help.

I have a friend whose 2 small sons really want a dog or cat. My friend however, does not want any type of animal that sheds hair, needs to be taken out, or smells.

I know this rules out a lot! He has his sons a few days a week but is out working almost the entire rest of the time and can't commit to something like say a traditional cat / dog pet. He does really want to make the kids happy and give them some type of pet.

Any ideas?

PS- NO FISH!

I have AKC Dobermans and one AKC Min Pin. We have the 3 generation pedigrees but what to track as far as we can. Sort of like a family tree search.

Does anyone know where to get this info or any ideas?
Thanks A LOT!

I have a 10 gallon tank which holds a Black Moor and another type of goldfish. The other type of goldfish is showing signs of possible Ich infection. It has these white fungus looking things growing on him. They're look very similiar to the tops of Dandelions.

I searched for a treatment and found one with heat and salt. I put the fish in a separate 1 gallon tank with 3 teaspoons of salt. (I put water conditioner in the tap water first.) I also raised the water temperature to 80 degrees. He is still very inactive and is only staying at the top of the water.

My Black Moor was exremely inactive the last day or so when the other fish was with it. Since I took the fish out for treatment, the Black Moor has been swimming all around and is very playful. Any ideas to what could have been wrong, or what is wrong?

One fish store said they are protien bubble and there is nothing to do to get rid of them. But another said protein bubbles only occur in salt water tanks. It makes my tank look bad and I want them gone!

I was at the dog park with my two dogs and this lady had her pitbull terrier there and it kept starting fights with all the other dogs. I had to carry my little dog Mollie so she wouldn't get attacked. Should the owner of the vicious dog been asked to take her dog and leave before someone got hurt?
I love dogs, but I am very fearful of pitbulls and other aggressive breeds.

We have had him since he was a puppy .He is a very good sheepdog but he just is'nt very sociable. If I get too close to him or sometimes even look at him he growls and he dislikes children,he is a nightmare when children are around,I have to watch him all the time.Is there any thing I can do or is it too late.I have always been kind to him but he would rather not know, and why do you think he acts in this way.

If I was a dog owner and they fouled everywhere I would be fined. If I throw a crisp out of my car window I am fined for littering. So why is it that a horse can crap all down a road for 100m and they can leave it?
It gets on my car tyres and today it was all over the road outside my daughter's school which is down a tiny little village lane where most parents and kids walk on the road as the path is so narrow.
I think it is disgusting, there's plenty of room on the saddle to keep something to clean it up with!

We take her to the vet for the vitamins but if there's an over the counter cure without a trip to the vet it would be most helpful because she truly hates going to the vet and when we get home I get the pitiful looks but she'll get over it.

I've had my Snowflake eel for almost a month now. I got him on Aug. 10 from a pet shop about 45 minutes away from my hometown. He is approx. 16 inches long (if not a little longer than that!) He has been doing fine in his tank for the past month. He lives in a 55 gallon aquarium with a Pleco. and two large Oscars (one albino and one tiger). The eel spends the majority of his time in a large log in the bottom of the tank and doesn't seem to have any problems co-existing with his tankmates. I've been feeding him ghost shrimp from a local pet store, popcorn shrimp from the deli at Wal-Mart, and some earthworms. I don't know for sure that he's even eating any of these things because neither I nor my husband have witnessed him eating. He usually spends his time in the log and comes out and swims around on occasion, but this morning when I left for work, he was laying kind of on his side. He was still breathing, and moving, but he wasn't his normal self. I'd appreciate any advice!
