5.25 Years Old

1 human year equals 7 dog years. So if you use proportions you get 12/84=9/x.
12 is 1 year (12 months) and 84 months is 7 years.
After doing cross multiplication you get 12x=756
Divide by 12 and x=63.
This is the number of months. To find this in years, you divide by 12 and get 5.25.
So, your puppy is 5 1/4 human years old or 63 human months old.

The 7-to-1 ratio doesn't really apply. That fits a bit better when the dogs are adults. But for now, your 9 month old dog is approximately equal to a 15 year old, both in physical and emotional development.

0.75 X 7.5 = 5.625 human years old.

That's 5 years, 7.5 months old.
