If I was a dog owner and they fouled everywhere I would be fined. If I throw a crisp out of my car window I am fined for littering. So why is it that a horse can crap all down a road for 100m and they can leave it?
It gets on my car tyres and today it was all over the road outside my daughter's school which is down a tiny little village lane where most parents and kids walk on the road as the path is so narrow.
I think it is disgusting, there's plenty of room on the saddle to keep something to clean it up with!

It all goes back to the fact that the law has never been changed whereas a horse has the right of way on any public road more so than a car and years ago people would clear up the dung to use as fertiliser

No it does not be functional for a using horse . i understand some carriage horses vendors have a "pouch" on their carriages that catch the mess. i think of the rationalization why it fairly is not a situation with horses nevertheless is with the aid of the fact horses are vegetarian's and their mess beaks down very quickly and birds additionally clean it up speedy. dogs devour meat and have very hen bowel strikes that don't wreck down quickly. on your comments you point out a leaping of completion held in a park. if so i think of the pony journey organizer might desire to freshen up the mess.

I am a horse owner and Baby I would rather have horse manure than Dog or cat crap to smell,in my backyard.Cleaning it up is so much easier too. Horses do not eat meat therefore their manure makes a wonderful compost for fertilizer. 4 wheelers and motorcycles or dirt bikes pollute the air and irritate, the neighbors dogs. Dogs barking is so much more annoying than a horses neighing too.

Actually some horse owners do clean up after their nags, I'm a horse owner and I get miffed about the mess others leave, I don't think it's fair to have a go at all owners/riders some of us are considerate y'know... But it is a good question, and you should see the mess the police horses leave outside my house!

Horse owners are meant to bu the highway code says that u should not carry anything that may disrupte your balance or concentration and if i went on a long hack i wouldn't have to wait for someone to walk behind me and pik evrybit of crap up that my horse dropped and its good for the gardens. if you are still not happy talk to your council about providing bins specially for horses and then you could just take some rubber gloves

How's the rider supposed to notice that the horse is having a crap. It's not like the horse squats down. Pity though, coz if they did squat down, those fat thighed workshy snobs like the riders round my way would slip down the back of the horse and land right in it! Oh joy.

i agree with jojo. the farm where i exercise horses at operates that policy too. horse riders are not all snobs, im certainly not. also to the person that said get rid of horses - they were around as a mode of transport long before cars were even invented & with the way the oil situation is headed may even be used as such once again

It is probably because of the history of horses being used for transport and the fact that horse manure carries much less parasites and bugs than dog or cat poop. It's not pleasant i agree, but it never sticks around for too long.

Yeh I would rather walk in a small patch of dog crap than a steaming 2ft wide 10 inch deep pile of horse sh!t. The smell travels a lot further too.

okay, i know it's not right if you compare horses to dogs, but it's not that easy to clean up the **** of horses. Maybe it's a suggestion, but you know those horsecarriges, they have these bags hanging under their tails. maybe if your town is that filthy, you can suggest the town community or mayor to have these things also for single horses?
