She is 1 1/2 years old, spayed, and is treated like a queen around our house! But she has developed this nasty temperament when friends come around.

Regular snap traps seem to do the best for us. Glue traps are cruel and don't kill them, they just suffer. Bait traps don't seem to work at all. How do you prevent them from getting in the house to begin with? I have heard steel wool and moth balls work, do they?

I would like to pasture our horses in an area that would included woods and brush. It will be an area of about 1 1/2 acres. It will include some oak, balsam, spruce, hemlock, pine, maple, soft maple, and pople. It has an abundance of wild blackberries. If I move my horses into that area from a grassy pasture, are there apt to be problems with any of the above mentioned trees/bushes? Will the horses founder from eating the blackberries? Are the two small oak saplings going to cause my horses problems? The land is sandy and mossy with some grassy pastureland. Please offer your advice. Thank you so much.

the vets office gave me some pain meds for them, and told me how to give it to them. they said make sure each takes their own medicine and not the other's. however, i'm pretty sure they said this was because the female was getting a little more med than the male, which makes sense because a spay is more invasive and has a longer recovery time than a neuter... but when i went to give them their meds this morning, they were labeled so the male gets more than the female...
i have tried calling the vet's office, but no one is answering the phone. any vet techs around that could help me out, so my kittens can get their meds? thanks!

I have a German Shepard, but his shedding is out of control. Is there anything I can to do? I know he will still shed, I just want it to be less frequent.

hi my names sparky, and thanks to the NCDL instead of putting me down they at your benefit took me in and made me well again because you see i wasn't looked after and I was abused by my owner. I now have a home even though nothing is known of my past i can be re-homed and trusted around children. Please remember it only costs 20 pounds to put a dog down, 15,000 to look after a dog and 1 pound to save a childs life in Africa.

PS: after you have finished reading this a child will have starved to death. think about that when your dogs getting doggy treats.

I have a 13 week-old female cocker puppy. I've never had a cocker before, and am finding it difficult for her to grasp the concept of potty-training. I do more positive reinforcement than negative, but we're still having a lot of trouble. Is it because she's so young, or is this a common thing in cockers? My labs have always been very easy to train, and really don't have much experience with smaller dogs.

I just got two pet male mice from someone on craigslist.org. They lived together in one of those nice crittertrail cages.

Well after having them for a couple of days, I noticed that they would occasionally fight so I bought another cage and separated them so that they don't hurt each other.

I know that male mice mark their territories with their scent. Now that I have them separated, they are still stinky. Would taking them to the vet and having them neutered do anything to help reduce the mousy odor?

I currently use Carefresh for their bedding and clean their cages once a week. I know some people here say to use Baking Soda in the bottom of the cage but wouldn't it get all over the mice when they burrow?

I really need some help here! I have already rescued them and I would really hate to have to rehome them. I live in an apartment with roommates and kids so the mice live in my room with me. I can't put them elsewhere because the kids will mess with them.

My year-old cat is constantly bringing home dead or nearly-dead creatures and leaving them on my front step -- mice, baby moles, birds, and just recently a chipmunk. Why is she doing this? Is it some sort of gesture?
