the other day I had my pet rat out and she was fine then just the other morning I woke up and she was dead what could of happend

well first how old was she? they only live for about 2 yrs and they will die all of a sudden. i breed them and i have had them die after about 1 1/2 yrs. most of the time they die from cancer, tumors , or just natural causes. sorry about your loss i hope you get another one.

I am so sorry for your loss, I have 2 of them & love them dearly. He could of just had a problem no one knew about, depending on age also, they only live 2 years. The person that wrote cruel things about them being smelly is because she was too lazy to clean their cage ! Rats are very clean pets & don't smell. Mine are litter trained & go into their litter pan in the large 3 story cage they are in.

Aww thats too bad. Sorry for your loss. Maybe your rat ate something off the floor that was toxic? Or died from heat if placed in sun all day? Maybe your kid brother/sister/parents poisoned it? There are a million different answers to your question.
Just head over to the pet shop, tell the owner your story, maybe get a replacement. Never know till you try. Good luck.

i'm so sorry! i love pet rats. they are so sweet and smart.
unfortunately rats do not have a long life span. the only way to find this out for sure is to take her to the vet and have a necropsy performed (it's an autopsy on an animal).

It could be old or she could have had a heart attack, but I think that it is cool that you had a pet rat. That must have been awesome. See if you can get a new one.

As the former owner of a pet shop and a real rat lover myself, I can tell you she may have just been old. They live such a short time, maybe 2 years. Of course, it could have been something else...cage clean? premium food? no exposure to anything toxic?

ahh sorry 2 hear that as my ratty was fine one day, dead the next. she couldve ate something or she couldve had problems that wasnt noticeable. these things just happen. thats life!

they dnt live for long if it was hot maybe thats y but it was just natural
