I just got an English Bulldog pup and am trying to fill out his AKC stuff and am not sure what "piebald" is. I've looked for pictures and can't find any that specifically points out all the colorings and markings of the dogs. Anyone know of a good website with pictures and labels?

We got her 2 days ago. We've been feeding her a mixture of hard kitten food mixed with soft kitten food and water with a little bit of milk in it. She is very tiny and scrawny and frail. We think the other kitten in the same cage at the pet store was not letting her eat much. I would appreciate any help.

The Truth about Pit Bulls
Don’t believe everything you have heard!
. There are an estimated 4.8 million registered American Pit Bull Terriers that have been selectively bred for
companionship and conformation dog shows. This number does not include the unregistered APBT’s,
which would add significantly to the 4.8 million.
. The pit bull breeds have NEVER been bred for human aggression. These dogs, like all other dog breeds,
are not born inherently mean or bad! They can, like any other breed, become mean through lack of train-
ing, abuse, neglect and irresponsible ownership and breeding.
. Pit bulls do NOT have locking jaws; the pit bull’s jaw is identical to any other dog of a similar size.
. Did you know that pit bulls consistently rate higher in the American Temperament Society’s tests every
year than many common “family” dogs? The three breeds that make up pit bulls rate around the 83% pass-
ing whereas the Golden Retriever is in the 82%, Greyhound is in the 81%. You can view the list at
ww.atts.org.
. The United States Custom Service recruits pit bulls from Shelters to train in detection. One of their all
time top dogs was Popsicle, who was rescued from a refrigerator during a raid. Popsicle currently has the
highest money bust to date.
. One of the top-rated Search & Rescue teams in the U.S. is Kristine Crawford’s American Pit Bull Terrier,
Dakota. Kris has two other SAR pit bulls! They were hand-picked by NASA to aid in the recovery of the
astronauts from the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. They were also
involved in the Laci Peterson search and just recently saved a
woman’s life. You can learn more about Kris and her team at
www.forpitssake.org.
. President Roosevelt, Anthony Robbins, President Wilson, Fred
Astaire, General Patton, Humphrey Bogart, Helen Keller, Thomas
Edison, Bernadette Peters, Michael J. Fox, Ken Howard, Shannon
Elizabeth, Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson, what do these people have in
common? They are ALL the proud owners of pit bulls!
. There are many pit bulls who are productive members of society.
Trained to be service dogs, therapy assistants, educational dogs, nar-
cotics detection, actors, search and rescue and more. Many have be-
come public heroes saving peoples lives.

Just recently (about a week ago), my dog started shedding again. He's done this before around half a year ago, and I noticed it's because of his incessant scratching. Although, right now, I've come to notice what appears to be red bumps or mosquito-bite-type bumps that's very itchy to him. His incessant scratching and gnawing not only makes his coat shed, but he's practically wounding himself in the process. So far, it's on his sides, on his back, and one on his stomach. They're not all over, maybe just around 4-5, but I just really need to know if it's serious.

So please, does anyone know?

The reason I asked this question is my neighbors Pit Bull. (7 years old), just killed their 2 year old daughter on Friday. The police had to shoot it. Also, a buddy from work was mauled about a month ago by his brothers Pit Bull who he has played with since it was a puppy. This was not a fighting dog but a nice "family" pet, 3 years old. He is supposed to return to work in a couple of more weeks. His hand and wrist look horrible. I went to visit him in the hospital. The doctors are not sure he will have full use of his hand. I read a story about another attack this morning which is why I was asking the question. These two incidents are fresh in my mind. Please answer the questions with a level head. I thought we were not allowed to use profanity which is usually a sign of the uneducated. Please try to be civil and of even temperment or don't bother to answer my query.

I have too many puppies at our at home shelter. My vet recommended putting some of them in a pillowcase and hitting it with a baseball bat or throwing it off of a bridge. Isn't this animal abuse? He said it doesn't count if they are sleeping is this true? I don't know if it would be the best thing but if i have to should i put the 'less cute' puppies in the bag or is that descrimination?

My yellow lab has very pink skin, he's actually a white lab. In the summer he gets these "rashes" on his belly, this summer they are horrible! I took him to the vet and he says its an allergy. The rash some times gets to the point of a scab. They are mostly on his belly and up his chest. The problem is my vet is kind of "old school" and I cant get him an appt elsewhere for a week. The rash doesnt seem like it boths my dog a lot, he just does the normal licking and cleaning. I took some picture of it, if a vet out there would be will to look at them I would so appreciate it. My vet gave me Genesis Topical Spray it a solution of .015%Triamcinolone. He also gave him a shot there but nothing has helped. Please email me if you are willing to look at the pictures, I'll email them to you. Creativeidsignr@Yahoo.com Thanks! Here is a you can see his picture and how white he is thus pink skin. http://www.frostypawstreats.com/FrostyPaws/Default.aspx?tabid=27&ItemID=789

We "free feed" our cats Purina One Sensitive System Formula dry food. Buf for a "treat" which seems to be about once a day now, they have me trained well....we feed them that new Meow Mix Premium wet food with no meat by products. It seems to sit well with them (aka not much puke to clean up), and I see why they call it "Meow" Mix when I rip off the top! LOL!

I would like to get a dog(large dog) that is a high watch dog and high guard dog, but needs to be somewhat independant I will be away for 8hrs a day, a dog that will want to jog about 8 miles a day or more, but if a couch potatoe I will consider. I live in a apartment that doesn't accepts dangerous breeds like pitbulls, rotweillers, chow chows. I don't want a medium or small size dog because I want some protection while jogging and when away from home, and because I like to wrestle a little with my dogs.

I have an almost 8 year old cat, and tonight when I changed his kitty litter, I found some bloody poop..I am calling the Vet in the morning, but thought that someone out there may have ideas as to what it could be...My 2yo would be devestated if he woke and his kitty was dead...I am hoping that it isn't something that serious...NO other health issues, and he's an indoor cat.
Thanks!

In the past I have had many pets like
Cat (ran away)
Bearded Dragon (took back)
Guinea Pig (took back)
Gerbils (1 died, 2 took back)
2 Fish (both died)
My Step Dad's dog (died last year)
Most of the pets i had when i was much younger, like say 10-11. I said I would take care of them, but back then i was too young to be responsible. We had a dog before, a German Shepherd, that was my Step Dad's dog and he had died last year. I want to convince my parents to get a Malamute because they really appeal to me and I have a big yard along with wods to hike in and many other things that make my house a good place for dogs to live in. I asked my Mom and she says she doesn't want a dog right now becuase they are expensive and too much work. How do I convince her I really want one????
