I've hit a couple of squirrels and got a bat caught in my wind shield wipers, but the worst thing I have ran over was my aunt's kitten. I was having problems backing out of her small driveway that her son has a ton of car parts scattered here and there around (he's useless) and her daughter was directing me what way to go, and she directed me right over the darn cat. I mean she was standing right over the wheel, watching that wheel to make sure that I wouldn't run over a wierd looking, sharp car part, and the next thing i know there's this horrendous screech, and she's sitting there laughing her a** off.

I once drove straight over a group of baby raccoons...I don't know that they died(I drove the same route the next day and don't recall seeing 'em laying there), so I don't count that, lol.
Not a small animal, but I've hit a deer....wait for the day I hit another. They pop out of nowhere around here, the bastards!
And believe it or not, my dad has hit a cow, lol. Could never figure out how he managed that one. It was dark I guess when he hit it, but....even with headlights on, how the hell do you NOT SEE A COW?!

One bird that I recall - it swooped in front of the car and caught the edge of the fender.
There's also the night I drove through a state park in late summer. It was raining and apparently the frogs were out mating. There were thousands of them jumping back and forth across the road, they were impossible to miss. I must have squished several dozen.
Other than that - not even a squirrel so far as I know, though there have been some suicidal ones that seemed determined to become road pizza.

In over a million miles of driving, I would say about 20 something. Most frightening was a batch of puppies that I slid over the top of while on ice (I couldn't stop, going slow), but they all looked o.k. afterward. Just a few little bumps.
Weirdest was a chuck or something that committed suicide: lifted up it's head just as I got up to it (some kind of defiant act or something). If it wouldn't have done that, it probably would have passed right under.

it's ok if you all kill cats, we never really got along with them that well.
But do you think you could lay off of all rodents? Yes, it is true that when we are caught in the headlights that we are sometimes so stunned that it appears we are suicidal, but that is NOT the case. Not at all. When you see one of our fellow rodent kind, would you please drive your car off into the nearest ditch or off of a cliff to avoid hitting us?
We have an important new job, and all of us have very large families that require that we make a success from this new job! So please try to avoid harming any rodents until we can finally get Yahoo answers back into good condition!
Thank you,
The Rattykins

I have hit quite a few animals while driving. Lots of squirrels, birds, a rabbit once. But mainly snakes...I used to swerve to hit them to be honest until I read about how this lady hit a snake and it went up inside of her engine area and then found a way into her car....yeaa...i don't run over snakes anymore...

I have been driving about 33 years and the only animals I have ever hit (as far as I can tell) have been 1) a bird that flew into my grille and died and 2) a rabbit I hit and killed. Both were accidents and I feel bad. Oh, and about 1,00,000,000,000,000,000,000 insects! ha! Interesting question, thanks.

One; A rattlesnake in Death Valley. He was sunbathing on the pavement and I came over a hill and didn't have time to stop. I was pretty bummed out since I was a guest in his house and I ended up killing him! Well, $hit happens...
